As usual, this Ukachukwu missed the boat by four hours. The unlettered reporter is not reporting on CHIOMA and Davido.
She used their marriage to illustrate the brittle minds of Nigerian youths who preferred getting giddy on a mere wedding while the Kenyan youths are focused on changing their misfortune caused by their leaders. This in her words Kenyan youths attacked their congress in protest while Nigerian youths are busy getting happy over a wedding!Who cares if Chioma and Davido weds? Are they the first Yoruba to marry a Gold Digger-Igbo named Chioma?
IN my view, though poorly articulated, is the lack of political ACTIVISM in Naija youths as compared to Kenyan youths who invaded their parliament.

None! But then, any excuse to waste resources like time and electrons would do.Then we wonder why we yell at the government to give the able-bodied youths tomatoes!! OK, to help lower the price of tomatoes!!! Same difference.Although the leaders of such absurdity still have not educated us how a government is supposed to feed its citizens and for how long. For ever!??? ReallyPeace!Rotimi Ogunsuyi

Nebu,
You don come again o. I wrote two sentences and you replied with a thesis of uncountable sentences.
Too much unnecessary grammar. To compare and contrast is two sides of the same coin.
A half-full cup or a half-empty cup is the same thing but the way you see the cup indicate your outlook on life.
Nebu, ponder on that.

Always creating silver lining in a rain-laden dark cloud. (Femi Olajide).Femi,I have always accused you of writing under a cloak of multiple Bantus, some of who are smart but most of who are unmistakable dumb asses. It seems that one of the idiots under this shade made the illogical response that I excerpted above; he/she did not fail in attesting to idiocy-celebrating by distorting something that is obvious to even children. In the YouTube clip (if that is what you are distorting), there was a contrasting, not a comparison, of the actions of youths in two different countries over matters in the news in a particular week. The first set of youths are celebrating and fighting over a wedding between a musician and his long time girlfriend with whom he has had children. This wedding has no significance in the lives of anyone other than the bride/groom's lives, so the fixation on it is stupid in light of the fact that matters affecting these youths' lives negatively, brought upon by the political leaders of Nigeria, abound a thousandth fold without the youths addressing them. The second set of youths are of Kenya, who swiftly rejected their government's exploitative, insensitive, and callous imposition of taxation on them as if their citizenry were of slavery and or indentured servitude. The contrast, not comparison, is obvious: Nigerian youths, who have witnessed more drastic and punishing economic effects of their government's policies, capitulated to such government's policies either due to tribalism or cowardice, even though their lives are worse off than Kenyan youths' -- Nigerian youths used Davido/Chiọma's wedding as evidence of an alive citizenry. To the contrary, Kenyan youths confronted their government/demanded the withdrawal of a policy they feared would impoverish them further. This is the behavior of a citizenry that understands its role as free people and understands the role it assigned to its leaders. The Kenyan leaders' withdrawal of the policy, unlike their arrogant Nigerian counterparts, is enough evidence that the peoples of both countries exist differently. The one exists as conquered people who meekly capitulate to indignity, exploitation, and arrogance of their leaders while passing/wasting time on Davido/Chiọma's wedding. The other exemplified free citizens who know their right and would fearlessly defend it if their government functionaries acted arrogantly or nonchalantly. Are you unaware that contrasting is more often a wake up call than a condemnation?Your attempt at sardonicism with, "creating silver lining in a rain-laden dark cloud", would have defied commonsense had your overall response not already insulted logic. What else could be more ennobling than finding "silver lining in a rain-laden dark cloud", Mr. Femi Olajide? The pettiness and anti-intellectualism with which you responded to this commentary has to be why these forums seem barren now.Na wa o, for una, always injecting negativism in any/everything!Oh Namibia: see ya in a few months. Ciao!Nebukadineze Adiele
