Anambra State Diaspora Association (ASA-World) offers message of expectations to the respective aspiring gubernatorial candidates of the respective political parties.
In lights of the upcoming November 18th, 2017 Gubernatorial Election in Anambra State of Nigeria, Anambra Diaspora World-Wide Partners in Services Organizations (ASA-World), offers goodwill message to the Gubernatorial Candidates as it sends its glossaries of expectations to the future Executive Governor of Anambra State of Nigeria;"the light of the nation".
ASA-World is a registered non-profit, “American 501(c) 3” designate umbrella organization of Ndi-Anambra people in Diaspora. We are a neutral, non-partisan and non-political organization. We do not support any candidate or political party. Our collective agenda as a “stakeholder-neutral Anambra indigenes abroad” is to deploy centrist driven socio-economic, all-inclusive approaches in seeking sustainable development in our home land.
We work in concert with a legitimately elected “government of the day”, credible NGOs and stakeholders to “do right” by our brethren in our home state. We liken ourselves an “ombudsman” and or an intermediary between the government and the governed. We are not formed by any government and therefore, do not answer to any government and or interest group(s). We are constituted by over 27 Diaspora Anambra legitimately registered Association globally; from Canada, United Kingdom, Anambra Leaders in the USA, Germany, China, Russia, Japan, ASA South Africa, India, Dubai, Ireland, Iceland, Pakistan,Valencia, Spain, Ireland, Finland, ETC
ASA-World embraces all stakeholders and Anambrarians from diverse political stripes and interest groups in our search for sustainable development in our home land, regardless of political dogma. We do not “pander and or divide” for political gains. Our Preamble supposes that “as the umbrella organizations of Ndi-Anambra State citizens worldwide, having recognized the need for sustainable development in Anambra State, agreed to come together, in one voice to advocate with unity and brotherly/sisterly loves through projects and programs formed an Association on Saturday, 19 June 2009 called Anambra State Diaspora Association World (ASA-World)”.
Our mission is to collaborate with all Stakeholders, home and abroad, through projects and programs in seeking sustainable development re health and wellness, human and infrastructural capital development. We work in concert with our respective member countries to enhance and to promote respective member country “Signature Projects” and we collectively execute joint projects when necessary as well. As an “Ombudsman” for the underserviced and the marginalized, we advocate for Anambrarians.
Time and again, we make conscious effort to emphasis the accomplishments of the government of the day through "project inspections" and we hold to account , those privileged to serve the great state of "Anambra ", where they are negligent and or cavalier in their duties. We speak with one “Global Voice” under the emblem of “ASA-World”.
We (ASA-World) are resolute in our efforts at flushing out service gaps and in outreaching to the government of the day the needs to fill the gap(s) to the underserviced, and the marginalized. We collaborate with all stakeholders; government and non-government (NGOs) in identifying emerging technological, socio-political and economic issues that are beneficial to the Anambrarians.
To be informed is to be empowered. As such, we operate from the stance that the information contained in this message should help voters and those aspiring gubernatorial candidates in making informed decision on whom to trust on issues of importance to them, from money management, human/ infrastructural development to basic understanding of socio-economics relevance to the governed. An informed voter is likely not to “mortgage” his/her children future for a bag of rice or a couple thousand Nairas in exchange of votes for an unqualified goons and his or her sycophants.
We want an Anambra State where leadership is based on merit, the ability to work hard, where fairness reigns, clarity of purpose, transparency and accountability always at the back of the leaders' mind. We envision an Anambra State where people can vote and be voted for, and their votes mean something. We do not want a State where thugs reign. In other words, thugs need not apply for the highest public (trust) job in Anambra State, “the light of the nation”.
We strongly believe in meritocracy as it gives opportunities and advantages to people on the basis of their ability and not on the basis of their wealth and or entitlement. Our refusal to accept mediocrity is deep rooted in our determination to sustain the gains we have made over the years by the previous governance. Mediocrity we also believe has no place in progressive democracy. Therefore, we continue to advocate and fight for free and fair elections throughout Anambra State, from gubernatorial, house membership, to local government chairmanship. When good people stay away from politics, scoundrels (“Agbolos”) will take over. Ndi Anambra cannot be governed by the unprincipled, uneducated individuals when we have the history of producing some of the best and brightest in Nigeria.
We are using this message of expectations to communicate to the respective aspiring gubernatorial candidates of the respectivepolitical parties that “Anambra is not for sale” to the highest bidder, that ASA-World will fight vigorously, any attempt by sycophants to impose goons on Ndi Anmabra. We will utilize the media; print and otherwise, deploy the services of our 27 country network; Canada, the United States, China, Russia, ASUANJ (ASA Japan), ASA China, ASA South Africa, India, Dubai, etc. to carry out our message of centrist driven ideas to engender innovative, transparent and accountable government in Anambra State. If it concerns the citizenries of Anambra State of Nigeria, it concerns ASA-World.
Here are our core expectations for the next Executive Governor of Anambra State, “the light of the nation”. Our agenda is simple, our mission is to ensure that leadership in Anambra State is based on ability to work hard by those entrusted with public trust, fairness reigns and a sense of direction and accountability the cornerstone for good government. Our pledge to Ndi-Anambra is simple and that is that Ndi-Anambra will never again, be led by unqualified sycophants with no understanding of the meaning of public trust.
Finally, our “Think home” world-wide “Strategic Committee” is pledging continued engagement through capacity building projects that includes skill transfer, human capital development, social audit that extends to research on service gaps, advocacy for transparent government and “Sustainable Development
We have outlined this centrist driven ideas in the hope that it will give the voters the yardsticks for making informed decisions on the ideas, statements and policy commitments of the respective political parties and their corresponding candidates . We hope also, that our agenda will inform the electorate on the significance of employing most suitable, most qualified candidate that will continue on the right direction to producing sustainable development. We invite all candidates to please adopt all adoptable expectations above in their platform(s).
We will be participating as observer and or monitor of the election process and as usual will obtain and compile useful information and credible evidence that will be useful in overcoming any alteration of the outcome of the election. Our position as a stakeholder-Ombudsman requires us to work vehemently against a system that installs unpopular and unqualified goon and his sycophants against the wishes of the people.
Consequently, we engage the services of professional camera men to record and take photos of information that will be accessible to the general public. In other words, we use our position as the “Ombudsmen” for the underprivileged, the marginalized and the under serviced to make it clear to all aspirants, that Anambra is not for sale to the highest bidder.
ASA-World's will be hosting an all candidates televised gubernatorial candidates debate that we hope will engender the opportunity for the Anambrarians and Stakeholders to see up-close the gubernatorial candidates from the respective political parties in early October .The debate is also expected to be used by the current government to make its for re-election and other aspirants to make their case for why Anambra needs a new direction.
