France has officially returned a powerful symbol of heritage to Côte d’Ivoire 🇨🇮

In 1916, French colonial troops seized the sacred Djidji Ayôkwé talking drum from the Ebrié people — a drum that once carried messages across communities.

More than a century later, it is finally going home.

The return comes amid growing pressure from African nations demanding the repatriation of looted cultural treasures taken during the colonial era.

History may have delayed justice — but it did not erase it.
