You went too low here and your lowliness could backfire on your reputation. Some of you take what goes on these forums too seriously that you exact vengeance without flinching a bit about the consequences of your actions. At my finger tips, I have the criminal records of about 90% of forum participants but under no circumstance will I divulge them.

 

What you did is malicious because you actually paid to obtain the information you plastered on these forums. It seems to me that we are paying too much money to you in Nigeria to be wasting on frivolities. There is no criminal record in what you released about gentleman SteveK -- traffic tickets, civil and domestic cases (that do not involve assault, battery, rape, child abuse/endangerment etc.), are not considered to be negative criminal records. But most people on these forums are too dumb to know the differences and would be quick to infer that gentleman SteveK is an ex-convict.

 

Bolaji Aluko, as my Ijekebe folks will say, afo ajoka gi (your bad belle too much). Vindictiveness is anti Christ and since you are vindictiveness defined, your piteous pretensions are just that -- pretensions and anti-Christianity.

Nnaa to be truly honest, this type of statement baffles me, how on earth could someone say that he has criminal record of 90% of forum participants and he is not even ashamed to say so. So does it means that such a person goes about sniffling and poke nosing on people, for the sake of goodness how much time would someone spend to be able to find dirts on hundreds of people.

There are more than two thousand participants in the forum and 90% of them means more than a thousand people. How can someone go about sniffing on other people just so he could find an incriminating things against them. Honestly this statement paints brother Nebu in a very bad light, even though the statement may just be shakara Oloje but for the fact that Nebu made such statement does not speak well of him, rather it simply made him a self confessed busy-body.

It is also baffling that 90% of forumites has criminal record and Nebu is just among the remaining 10% without criminal record, honestly laugh no day gree me type now. Why is it that we Africans or to put it more correctly, we Nigerians always got a big mouth similar to the mouth possessed by the proverbial tortoise who boasted that should there be an impasse or pandemonium in the market, that he will literally stampede to death a pregnant woman, but alas when a pandemonium occurred those with heavy feet ended up stampeding a pregnant woman to death but tortoise was held responsible because of his mouth.

This is one of the most reckless and senseless statement I have read here in the forum directed at threatening people, what Nebu is trying to do in essence is warning the people in the forum to be careful because he has sniffed their backyard and found incriminating things he could use against them.

Honestly education is never a sign that someone is wise, if not our brother shouldn't make such a statement, even if he has the criminal record of 10% of the forumites, he shouldn't voice it out because such will paint him as a busy-body who goes about sniffling on people.

Even a member of the FBI or CIA whose duty it is to obtain such records officially will never come to the public forum boasting of such, neither will he ever use such in a public discussion. If not that I have read Nebu here said that he belongs to probably the fifty-something age groups, I would have thought he is a teenager for making this kind of statement because only teenagers or adolescents could make such comments in public forum fro the sake of boasting to massage their ego if self-importance.

To say that this statement is sickening is an understatement because such a statement don't suppose to come from an adult.

I'm away briefly from the forum, only managed to check my mail from my location but couldn't resist posting rejoinder to this one.

I mentioned once that English is a funny (foreign) language.  Many of us, myself in particular, get lazy about finding the right words to express ourselves, or to say exactly what we want to say.  Here is how I read Nebu's comments:

First, he does not have it.  He only has his finger ready to search the law enforcement websites for the criminal records of members.  He is talking about his ability to search the records with his fingers.  He was stretching it.  Before computers, at your finger tip meant that you have the document within your surrounding in a file or at your desk.  Following the arrival of computers, at your finger tip means that it is somewhere in the cloud or on the www somewhere and you can google it up.
 
Second, he did not really mean the "criminal records" because one can only have a criminal record if he has committed a crime that is of record.  Here again, he probably wanted to say that he can search the records TO DETERMINE IF ANY MEMBER HAS A CRIMINAL RECORD.
 
Finally, the 90% was just an overstatement, period.  It was just used for emphasis to make a point that anyone can look up anyone's records just as Aluko did.
 
Relax folks.  In the final analysis, I will speculate that all Nebu wanted to say is that he can search the law enforcement databases to determine if any member of this forum has a criminal record.  So can we too.
 
Ok, we have called his bluff, but he did make a point that doing so, AND RELEASING SUCH INFORMATION TO FORUM MEMBERS was not a good idea by Aluko.

This simply means that he is claiming that he already got those informations with him but will not divulge them, if not for this last capping comments, your theory that he may mean that googling those informations from www are just on his finger tips may hold but when someone say that he would not release what is in his possession, it means he has such a thing in possession.

I totally understand where you are coming from and I had hoped that that was what he meant but unfortunately his statements betrayed that hope.

There is nothing baffling about Nebu's statement. He said he has ACCESS to almost everyone's criminal record.

 

I believe that all practicing lawyers in the US have special access to criminal records in the public domain for the purpose of evidence gathering. And Nebu is a practicing lawyer.

Be informed that I was never arrested for battery, assault, or domestic violence. In fact, I was never arrested, tried nor found guilty for any of the things Bolaji , foolishly, posted here.

 

Bolaji may get done to him what Emeka did only to Valentine Ojo but spared Bolaji. He still owns a home in Burtonsville that is under the jurisdiction of the Silver Spring court and there is such a thing as ex parte orders, if he thinks that hiding out in Otuoke is adequate protection.

Yea, it doesn't look good disclosing somebody's criminal record, (might even be an offence of its own) but I think your "gentleman" Stevek drew the first blood. You also  appear  to be shady yourself by claiming knowledge of every forum participant record (which is of course impossible).

 

Defend your friend, alright, but don't intidate others. I would advise more civil discourse across aboard.

If as you say above in quote was the case, why does he NOT have access (at his finger tips) to 100%, but only 90%? Has he tried searching for 100% only to realize that he is limited to 90%? How did he come to the conclusion that he was able on 90% not less or more? Or does he lack the resources to capture the other 10%? I mentioned once that English is a funny (foreign) language.  Many of us, myself in particular, get lazy about finding the right words to express ourselves, or to say exactly what we want to say.  Here is how I read Nebu's comments:

First, he does not have it.  He only has his finger ready to search the law enforcement websites for the criminal records of members.  He is talking about his ability to search the records with his fingers.  He was stretching it.  Before computers, at your finger tip meant that you have the document within your surrounding in a file or at your desk.  Following the arrival of computers, at your finger tip means that it is somewhere in the cloud or on the www somewhere and you can google it up.
 
Second, he did not really mean the "criminal records" because one can only have a criminal record if he has committed a crime that is of record.  Here again, he probably wanted to say that he can search the records TO DETERMINE IF ANY MEMBER HAS A CRIMINAL RECORD.
 
Finally, the 90% was just an overstatement, period.  It was just used for emphasis to make a point that anyone can look up anyone's records just as Aluko did.
 
Relax folks.  In the final analysis, I will speculate that all Nebu wanted to say is that he can search the law enforcement databases to determine if any member of this forum has a criminal record.  So can we too.
 
Ok, we have called his bluff, but he did make a point that doing so, AND RELEASING SUCH INFORMATION TO FORUM MEMBERS was not a good idea by Aluko.

I am sorry to disappoint you. I am not an English teacher and not a professor either. With all my typos and grammatical errors in English, that should have been obvious to you. My brother, rubbish belongs in the trash can, and I hope you have one. Permit me to say that if I die defending people, my life on earth would have been worth it. The alternative is certainly unattractive and not rewarding to me.

For the record, I realize that it is possible for one to lift comments out of context and use it to make a point. If you read my comments again, I qualified my views by saying something like "In my opinion...". I would hope that I am allowed to have an opinion even when it does not meet with your expectations. I found no rubbish in your opinion. On the contrary, I value your advise on how not to act next time. For that, you have saved me future aggravations.

Viewed in that context, you are probably right. I just personally did not take Nebu's comments at face value. I guess when people's privacy is involved, it is justifiable for people to raise an alarm at such statement. I just did not believe that he had what he said he had which is why I played it down. Sorry my thought on having ordinary people say what Nebu means were not made clearly.
That's the risks we take when we assume everybody is on same reading and thought levels.
To be more clearly, an ordinary person's, man on the street interpretations of what they think Nebu means will be more believable than some of what, we, the so called college educated would.
One Chinese prof. I had in1992 once advised that we write in such a manner a child in elementary 5 and up should understand without having to think about it much. This may not apply if you are writing a professional paper.
Here, some of us do just that.  The person that will win the price first is PASTOR Ken Asawara.
He is just good at such a style. You may need to cancel your job though to finish reading one of his postings.
Sometimes it pays to keep some thoughts S and S ( short and simple or short and stupid like some of us find ourselves doing sometimes. Sorry, I do not mean that. I think Lawal stepped on my toes sometime ago in trying to go close to being S and S.
Here too, I want to plead that no one takes it that I do not think people without some college education are not special, nor implying that some of us with some college education are special. I was just trying to make some points. I did this to prevent a similar arguement Nebu's just generated.

Some people on these forums are too childish, paranoid, and semi-literate that one needs not waste a minute on them. I am pretty busy this time and have not been following the forums meaningfully in the last couple of days. I will not be following them in any meaningful sense in the next couple of weeks, so those whose idiocy has taken center stage over my comment will not be getting their fidgetiness calmed by any responses from me.

 

By the way, what Bolaji posted here is not a criminal record, it is a court record. Gentleman SteveK works for the US government and mostly likeliy holds Security Clearance. There is no way he could hold onto his job or his Security Clearance if he has a criminal record -- even certain arrest records can nullify one's Security Clearance. In most jobs with the US government, a loss of Security Clearance almost always leads to the losing of such jobs. Gentleman Stevek is still employed with the US government, so only an ignoramus or a mischief maker would interpreted what Bolaji posted here as a criminal record.

 

Domestic violence is a serious matter that should never be minimized or exaggerated for vindictive reasons. There are women who are devils and can drag you to court almost everyday for phantom domestic violence. Men should not tolerate such foolishness more than once -- divorce her ass the second time that the police show up in your home over false domestic violence accusation. From the court record posted by Bolaji, gentleman SteveK was the plaintiff in the first court case of domestic violence. It is likely that he was actually the abused party in the relationship but I fault him for waiting too long to get out of that relationship. He is lucky to have not been roped in, convicted, and professionally ruined all those years.

Although I am, currently, a happily married man living in the same home, I am not married to the same person. That tragic marriage ended in 2005, less than a year she filled that phoney domestic violence charge, which she dropped. You are right; mine was a counter that was also dropped for the sake of my children.

 

If you noticed, I never participated in the discussion about the behavior of some Nigerian women who brought by their husbands to this country and later turned on them because I couldn't be impartial.

Finally, the 90% was just an overstatement, period.  It was just used for emphasis to make a point that anyone can look up anyone's records just as Aluko did.
 
Relax folks.  In the final analysis, I will speculate that all Nebu wanted to say is that he can search the law enforcement databases to determine if any member of this forum has a criminal record.  So can we too.
 
Ok, we have called his bluff, but he did make a point that doing so, AND RELEASING SUCH INFORMATION TO FORUM MEMBERS was not a good idea by Aluko.

Not so Gentleman Stevek Kerewa, what were the numerous Traffic tickets about 7, for? DWWUI? DECKING WIFE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE? You sure had lots of traffic tickets. Yesterday, as I went thru the records, I jokingly wrote: "Stevek Kerewa, why is it that you had several traffic tickets?"

Because, several traffic tickets is a pointer to many other psycho-make up of an individual.

It may show that the person hardly obeys laid down rules, laws of his chosen community, or the person loses his senses probably unintentionally thru Ogogoro binging.

I most sincerely believe that, when Steve brought in not just Bolaji’s family but his young child into his angry e-mail, he crossed all bounds of decency.  To maintain any semblance of decency (even by Nigeria listserver standards), people must condemn that act.

His e-mail is not only morally repugnant but also cringe-worthy even to the vilest among us.

However, a counter-offensive is not the best choice.
