Dear Colleagues,

We are having a Tele-forum on the value of awareness of citizenship entitlement; its convergence and bifurcation to humanitarian and human right laws. This discussion goes beyond a reinterpretation of the problem of internal conflicts and civil wars in Africa, rather we would like to explore whether or not society can be improved from the perspective of upholding citizenship privileges and best practices in human rights.

The pressing questions are:

·         What are the expected benefits of citizenship?

·         What happens if a nation cannot meet the basic expectation of citizenship or protect human rights?

·         What tools are there to protect individuals in a society where impunity prevails in the political?

·         What is the difference between humanitarian law and human rights law and where do they converge?

Dear friends:
We have been obliged to cancel today's tele-forum, Awareness of Citizenship Entitlement  and Basic Human Rights, due  to the passing of our Chairman's mum. The news is so upsetting to all of us here at AV but we are relieved that her passing was peaceful and painless.

We have unanimously decided to postpone the program in honor of Mrs Verdone and in preparedness to support our chairman in his grief and practical needs. On behalf of us all, I thank you for your understanding, and apologize for any inconvenience or embarrassment this cancellation may cause you.

Awareness of Citizenship Entitlement  and Basic Human Rights has been rescheduled for February 22nd, at 12:00 PM Eastern Standard TIme.
We hope you now have enough time to prepare for the program and will make arrangement to attend.

Our condolences to Mr. Verdone.

Thanks for your support and understanding.

Regards,
