African Youth Conference On the State of The AU Date: Saturday, July 25, 2009 Venue: Busyinternet Conference Hall, Circle Time: 9am prompt
Certificate of Participation: Gh¢5
This conference will the 6 edition of our project called "Do More Talk Less". With the Theme-AU:Rekindling the purpose, Revisiting the objective, a brief description of the conference is as follows:
Thoughts
of the outcome of the conference on June 27 have become so overwhelming
that we must seek a way to make the African Youth realise in our small
way, that they are stakeholders in the affairs of the land that belongs
to us. How do we foster accountability amongst Africa's political and
corporate leadership in terms of the objectives of the AU? This
conference to our mind, gives the African youth in attendance, an
opportunity to proffer for themselves reasons why Africa should remain
united. Areas of Concentration: The traditional African Society in Democracy and Good governance Managing and Resolving Conflicts The Media
Regional Integration Speakers: Prof Absalom Mutere - Kenya Lamoussa Kyelem - Burkina Faso Joseph Foray Jr-Liberia Emmanuel K. Bensah Jr. - Ghana
We
shall also be watching a very important presentation titled "They Came
Before Columbus" - A 40minute presentation by the distinguished Dr.
Ivan Van Sertima, who through credible and indisputable facts, shows
that Africans had actually visited and lived in America before
Christopher Columbus ever ventured to find America; and also that
Columbus did not actually reach America.
