It is with great joy that I invite you to the August edition of the African Youth Conference in the execution of "The New Africa Project". The details of the conference this August are as follows:
Theme: Because We Are Africans
Date: Saturday, August 30, 2008
Venue: The Conference Hall, Busyinternet, Circle (Ring-road Central)
Time: 9am Prompt

WHY THIS THEME
The world as a lot of people have put it is becoming a global village. Because of this, people are imbibing cultures and values that were originally alien to their societies. We cannot deny that these infusions and mixtures existing have not only added some kind of value to human existence, but they have also been the source of the pervasion(s), which are eating into the fabrics of our Africaness and destroying the qualities that make up the African society, eg, the extended family system.
This conference will focus on
- Is the phrase global village synonymous with "forget who you are and where you come from"?
- Is it important that we always remember that we are Africans?
- Does this consciousness have any positive effect on the identity, glory and the progress of the African continent?
- What must we do to ensure as African youth, that we do not lose who we are, while we imbibe values from other parts of the world?

We trust that this conference will be as rich and as exciting as the ones we have held in the past; and we encourage you to tell your friends who have not enjoyed the benefit of being at our conference, and bring them (as many as you can). We will also be honoured to share from your knowledge on this subject, if you have something to say.
