Participate in our Africa-wide search for success stories and case studies of sustainable design practices of products or services, which help minimize harmful environmental impacts.Â
Your experience will contribute towards a compilation of stories on how innovative design thinking can contribute towards reducing environmental impacts. The stories will be featured at the fifth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly in February 2021, and support the discussions of governments on how best to advance sustainable consumption and production patterns. - Businesses, including SMEs, willing to share their experience in designing products and services to minimize harmful environmental impacts.
- Submissions from public sector, academia or civil society who have adopted innovative design practices will also be accepted.Â

This project forms part of the UN Environment Programme 'Mainstreaming coherent and effective sustainable consumption and production policies, including through circular economy models: Best practices and recommendations'. The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has been appointed through the NCPC-SA to gather more information on innovative design practices in Africa that will be compiled in a report, which aims at showcasing how businesses in Africa have embraced new design practices to minimize harmful environmental impacts.
Sharing your success story will provide exposure at a global level that will showcase the excellence and innovative concepts from leading sustainability thinkers and practitioners from the Africa region.
