Thank you Rickee
I look forward to receiving the meeting information at your earliest convenience.
Once I know of the meeting date and time at the Parliament House, I would be able to finalise discussions with other stakeholders in relation to hosting additional meetings between the AU delegates and community leaders, including the African missions/consulates in Sydney.
Once again, thank you for your assistance.
Kind regards
John

Good morning John,
Thank you for your email. We look forward to being able to welcome the delegation to Parliament. I will discuss your request with my colleagues and will get back to you in the next couple of days.
The 14th and 15th November are parliamentary sitting days and are typically very busy days for Members, especially Ministers.
I will be in touch soon.
Kind regards
Rickee

Sydney NSW 2000
Dear Ms Murray
A delegation of the African Union (AU), Addis Abba, Ethiopia, would be visiting Australia from the 14-18 November 2017.
Specifically, they have requested a courtesy meeting with the NSW Government and Opposition on either the 14 or 15 November 2017. Whilst in Sydney they also wish to meet with relevant Minister(s) and Member(s) of Parliament, including Mr Edmond ATALLA (MP), the first African in the NSW Parliament.
Their travel arrangements to Sydney on the above dates have been finalised. However, we have been informed that those days are the parliament sitting days and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
The AU delegates include:
- Mr Ahmed Elbasheer, Director of the African Union's Citizens and Diaspora Organizations (AU CIDO);
- Ms Eiman Kheir, Regional Policy Officer- Middle East, Asia and Oceania of the African Union Commission; and
- A third delegate to be advised.
As you may be aware, the AU CIDO is designed to serve as a catalyst to facilitate the involvement of African peoples in the
continent and in the Diaspora (including Australia)
in the affairs of the African Union. Its commitment is to ensure
that the AU represents not only African governments, but also
the people of Africa. Its overall mission is to engage all elements of African communities, namely civil society and the African Diaspora, in the
development and support of AU activities, decision-making processes, policy programmes, institutions, organs and overall goals.
To achieve these objectives, the delegates are looking forward to engaging with the NSW Government, the Opposition and relevant stakeholders to facilitate
mutually beneficial
causes that harness the potentials and involvement of African people living within the Australasian
region, including the implementation of the
AU Agenda 2063.
We would therefore appreciate if you can assist to host a brief meeting between the delegates and the relevant stakeholders mentioned above on a suitable time and date between the 14-15 November 2017 at the NSW Parliament
House. (Even if after hours will suit.)
Please visit www.paadn.org and
www.celebrateafricanaustralians.org for information about us, the Pan African Australasian Diaspora
Network (PAADN) and Celebration of African Australians Inc. We are assisting the AU delegates to organise their visit to Australia. Also, view my profile at http://www.celebrateafricanaustralians.org/state-territory-coordinators
Further, attached is the AU Agenda 2063 and a communique from the AU that sheds light about PAADN and its relationship with the AU.
This email has been Cc'ed to Eiman Kheir for the AU delegates' information.
I am looking forward to receiving your response.
