Dear colleagues,

we identified the type specimen of Sclerophrys capensis. This nomen is the type species of the first available name for African Bufonid genera and replaces Amietophrynus.

We tried for many years to identify this specimen and showed it to many colleagues. We also tried to sequence this specimen of almost 200 years, without success. Finally morphometry worked.

More in the paper joined.
