Grants to Support CSOs & CBOs in Malawi | 20 May
This grant selection process aims to identify CSO/CBOs to engage communities to provide support on access to justice services through the provision of mobile courts.

United Nations Grants for civil society and NGOs | 20 May
OHCHR supports projects of civil society and non-government organizations that aim at promoting and protecting the human rights of people of African descent through the IDPAD grant scheme.

Mentally Mindful Uganda | 31 May
Voice Uganda is looking for inclusive and bold ideas around innovative integration of mental health into programme, policy, and practice. Funding available is between 50,000-200,000 Euros. 

Spring Up Uganda| 31 May
This grant is meant for (informal) groups or organisations to build and enhance their capacity of lobby and advocacy. Funding available is up to €25,000 for a period between 12-18 months.

2022 Call for Proposals: Civil Society Organisations in Uganda | 31 May
The European Commission has launched a call for proposals for CSOs. Prevention and response to teenage pregnancies and youth’s empowerment and participation are amongst the main themes.

US Embassy in Cote d'Ivoire: Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program | 31 May
Priority themes include encouraging active participation of women and youth and promoting economic empowerment through entrepreneurship.

2022 Africa Women Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) Awards | 3 June
The Awards aim to recognise, honour, and celebrate women entrepreneurs in Africa and across various industry sectors, for their contribution to Africa’s inclusive growth and social development.

Grants to Strengthen Youth Organisations in Zimbabwe | 21 June
The European Commission is inviting proposals to strengthen local Civil Society Organisations engagement as actors of good governance and development at the country level.

US Embassy Kenya | 30 June
Awards to a maximum of $50,000. Priorities include promoting equal access and participation of women and girls in educational opportunities, civil society, and economic activity.

Africa Media Recognition Awards “More Than a Mother” 2022 | 30 July
For journalists raising awareness about social issues such as breaking infertility stigma, support girls’ education, ending child marriage, FGM and GBV, and women empowerment at all levels.

2022 Context Matters Research Grants Program | 1 August
The program funds research designed and undertaken by African researchers. Key aspects are building scholars’ research capacity, promoting knowledge sharing, and informing praxis and policy.

Rapid Response Funding for Women in South Africa | Ongoing
This funding has a special emphasis on mitigating the effect of COVID on women’s rights. Amounts range from R20,000 to R50,000. Grants are available for a period of three months to one year.

Firelight | Ongoing

Noel Buxton Trust Grant | Ongoing
Trustees tend to offer grants to smaller, grass-roots organisations with a focus on economic development. Priority countries are Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, Sudan and South Sudan.

Techsoup West Africa | Ongoing

The Beit Trust | Ongoing

This fund assists NGOs to design and develop programmes which assist at-risk communities to build on their strengths and help them deal with the critical factors that make them vulnerable.

The Doria Feminist Fund seeks to create a feminist ecosystem where the new generation of feminist movement in the MENA region has access to more and better funding and resources.

Women’s Empowerment International | Ongoing

Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program in Guatemala | 26 August
Priority will be given to the themes of climate change and environmental sustainability, empowerment of women and girls, especially from indigenous communities, and media freedom.

The Old Dart Foundation | Ongoing
The Old Dart Foundation is a private grant-making organisation working to tackle poverty in Chile, Papua New Guinea, Peru, and the Philippines with a focus on women, children and young people.

Urgent Action Fund Latin America | Ongoing
A regional feminist fund for Latin America and the Spanish speaking Caribbean, which contributes to the sustainability and strengthening of activists and their movements, with quick and agile support.
