Hello just wanted you all to know what kinds of NV CD undocumented students are doing. They have gotten themselves arrested and are refusing to leave the jails.

Hi Rev. Deborah

Today we escalate our campaign by asking for a review of all low-priority deportations at the Broward Detention Center. For the past month we've been working tirelessly with families; as well as detainees, from all across Florida to identify as many low-priority detainees as we can. On Friday, a few days after we made it public that we had NIYA organizers embedded within the detention center, both Marco and Viridiana were literally kicked out of the detention center.

This revelation caused quite a bit of commotion inside of the detention center with the detainees chanting and refusing to cooperate with guards. The stand-off ended with all 600 detainees in lock-down for the remainder of the day; by being refused access to phones and with several organizers in isolation. Yesterday over 450 detainees responded by joining the hunger strike lead by Claudio and others; as confirmed by several of our organizers inside. The detainees are ready to fight back and organize; ICE is attempting to do everything in their power to quite them down.

Leobardo Ocampo is being intimidated and has been moved to a higher security facility in Miami; the same threat is being held over other detainees.

Claudio Rojas has been placed into isolation. Claudio has been on a 15-day hunger strike and has been organizing from with-in for months now. Claudio has told us that he is not afraid of being moved, "...the organizing continues wherever they put me. I need to go home to my family!"

Cesar Leon is being moved to the airport tonight and will be deported first thing in the morning. Cesar's wife and son, Max, will be joining us at the rally today outside of Broward in what might be the last time they see Cesar.

Support the detainees by signing the petition and demanding their immediate release. We were finally able to infiltrate this center and find out what was going on now we need to finish the job and make sure ICE conducts a full-review. Your signature can make the difference. After signing please share the petition with a friend.

P.S. Don't forget to support the Undocumented Bail Fund, if you can make a $25 donation so we can make sure to support those who risk arrest.
