Hello Contributors 👋

What’s the latest on Omicron?

Tim’s weekly update video on YouTube looks at the latest stats on Omicron, and makes a projection for where we might be by Christmas. He also discusses the latest symptoms we’re seeing from Omicron, breakthrough infections in the double and even triple vaccinated, as well as sharing how you can help stay at the forefront of tracking this new variant.

If you’ve got an Omicron experience to share, we want to know! Head to the app to fill in the survey and tell us all about it.

We’re also releasing a feature in the app within the next day or two to allow you to report whether your positive PCR test has been identified as Omicron when you log your health.

As Omicron continues to develop, we’ll be keeping our blog up to date with the latest information, so make sure you check in regularly to see what’s happening. Read the blog now.

Is COVID more deadly than the flu?

People often question why they should be worried about COVID, when the symptoms are so similar to a bad cold or the flu.

In a new video, Tim talks about how COVID compares to other viral infections including the flu, looking at both transmissibility and deadliness. Watch on YouTube now.

If you’d like to read more about how to tell the difference between the flu and COVID, read the blog on our website.

A huge honour for Tim and the ZOE COVID Study

This week, Tim was invited to collect his OBE from Prince Charles at Windsor Castle, for services to the COVID-19 response. This is a huge honour, and deservedly recognises the tireless work of our researchers both at King’s College London as well as the ZOE COVID Study. It is also a huge achievement for over 4.5 million of you who have contributed to the app over the last 20 months, forming the world’s largest surveillance study of the virus and helping to shape a new type of healthcare.

Stay safe and keep logging 🙏
