Ladies and Gentlemen;

We need to confirm details for the National Carnival Presentation Night.

The Presentation Night is included in your player registration for the Carnival, and is the finale of the Carnival.

Could you please:

  • Advise if you have purchased additional tickets for your partner or others to attend.  These would have been purchased as part of your registration.
  • If you require child minding for the function please see the attached quote template.
  • If you have special dietary requirements please complete the attached .xls sheet and return it to me.

“FYI, the entrée is vegetarian whilst the main dishes are both Gluten-Free & Nut-Free but I will be honest that the dessert has plenty of sugar.  Every effort will be made by the ACC to cater for dietary requirements for allergy-related, religious, ethical or medical reasons”

If possible please provide a response by completion of business Monday 12 Sept 2022.

Regards

Blue

Hey up Cuzzo, Blue and Pam, sorry to be a pain, but could you please check numbers going to the presentation dinner on the Saturday?  Rafters has us down for 39.

And chase up child minding and dietary requirements. FYI, the entrée is vegetarian whilst the main dishes are both Gluten-Free & Nut-Free but I will be honest that the dessert has plenty of sugar.  Every effort will be made by the ACC to cater for dietary requirements for allergy-related, religious, ethical or medical reasons with notification to be received no later than seven (7) days prior to the event. If you can fill out the attached spreadsheet for your State/Territory & return to me by Friday 23 September that would be great.  Please note that due to the size of the event, the ACC are unable to guarantee that dietary requirements that have not been pre-ordered, or ‘lifestyle choice’ diets such as paleo, Atkins diets, will be catered for. Requests cannot be made on the night. Dietary ‘choices’ are not something that we can accommodate for individuals – please only list dietary ‘requirements’.

Also, do we want a bus (from Glenelg or West Beach?) to the function in North Terrace?

Can we get back to Adrian by Monday evening?

Cheers

Gday Gala Dinner Event Captains

A few queries:

  1. See table below - can you advise how accurate the net number for your State/Territory is please? (ie How many additional tix that you have currently sold?  And expecting any more to register?)  Of all things I need to order coloured napkins for your tables in the next day or so!

  1. Childminding forms – thanks to those that have sent through … keep sending them through
  2. Dietary requirements – thanks TAS for reply … can everyone else get their summaries through as well so I can collate
  3. Transport to venue – thanks NSW for reply … I see a few States on social media have pre-dinner functions that afternoon in town so assume you don’t need transport … please advise if you need buses as I don’t want to waste funds unnecessarily

Kind regards

Gday all

Your State/Territory President has nominated yourselves as their respective key contact/s for the upcoming National Carnival Dinner on 1 October at the Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC).  Please let me know ASAP if not the case.

With record numbers at this year’s National Carnival we are expecting some big numbers for this Gala Dinner & with that creates some logistical issues.  I have been able to sort out capacity issues in the past week so continue to keep selling those tickets!  According to ACC staff we will have the 2nd biggest dinner there for 2022.  Here is some info for now – please feel free to ask any questions that you may have.

  1. Current ticket sales to Gala dinner look like this – if it doesn’t look right for your State/Territory – could you please advise a) how many players yet to register; b) how many additional tix that are being purchased outside of PlayHQ; c) how many children need minding that haven’t been purchased via PlayHQ. We will update this over the course of the next few weeks.

  1. Additional supporter/spouse/partner tickets? – I will close this off at your end on Friday 23 September.  After that they will need to buy online via the TeamApp events page up to the Wednesday 28 Sept. Between now & then could you please advise of numbers of additional ticket sales not via the PlayHQ system – say on a weekly basis - so that I can keep a track.

  1. Childminding? - We have hired a few rooms within the Adelaide Convention Centre for childminding during our Gala Night on 1 October.  The Riverbank Rooms are on the lower deck of the centre and just a few minutes’ walk away from Main Hall H if any issues (see map of the ACC) – but far enough away so they don’t see mum or dad.   We have recruited the Hessel Group to run our Mobile Creche provider & they are an approved care provider to the ACC. They provide everything to keep the young ones entertained but just so they bring age-appropriate equipment and sufficient number of carers could you get those who require childminding to complete the attached form for their children please & return to me?  Subsidised cost is $44 per child which I will invoice States at end of Carnival. (I think some States have asked for $45 to cover PlayHQ fees).

  1. Drinks package? – we have a 5-hour package (CUB beer, SA wine, soft drinks) plus 3 courses starting from 6.30pm so that should keep the throng well-fed & watered throughout the course of the night.

  1. Wristbands for entry into Gala Dinner? – we will provide wristbands for each State at the Team Managers/Coaches meeting on Saturday 24 September at the Glenelg Lacrosse Club within the West Beach Parks precinct.  Meeting starts at 11am.  Gives you a week to distribute to your patrons.

  1. Transport to/from ACC? – I have placed an interim booking for buses to transport to/from West Beach Parks/Glenelg region to/from ACC. Could you:

    1. give me an indication of the numbers from your State that are likely to take the bus trip from a) Glenelg and b) West Beach Parks?
    2. let me know if there are any other significant locations across suburban Adelaide where we should consider having a bus pick-up (including estimate number)?

More details of exact locations and times of these buses will follow closer to the event.

Being in the city, there are a multitude of ways to get to ACC via public transport including:

  1. ACC Location? North Terrace, Adelaide.  Whilst you can access all around the Centre, the closest entry point for our function will be via North Terrace as we start pre-dinner drinks in Halls JK before moving to Main Hall H for dinner. Here is the map of the ACC.

  1. Times? – Pre-dinner drinks start in combined Halls JK at 6.30pm before we move into the Main Hall H for dinner from 6.50pm for a 7pm start. With so many people to usher in it would be great to get everyone moving in as early as possible. Entrees are being served at 7.15pm. Formalities will start at 7.25pm. Drinks stop at 11.30pm & rollout to the city from there.

  1. Table seating arrangements? – like with previous Carnival dinners we will ask for the States & Territories to sit with your respective States/Territories for dinner – feel free to move around after formalities have ended.  We will provide table plan in the lead-up to Carnival week but every State/Territory will have access close to the front of the room & there are huge screens for those that can’t see at the back.  Tables will be marked with your State/Territory on the night.

  1. Dietary requirements? – FYI, the entrée is vegetarian whilst the main dishes are both Gluten-Free & Nut-Free but I will be honest that the dessert has plenty of sugar.

  1. All-Australian pics? – these will be taken in Halls JK (where the pre-dinner drinks will be on arrival). AA players will receive their AA medals during the photo process in Halls JK. With 9 AA teams to announce, distribute medals & take pics of we will need to be efficient here.

  1. Champs MC again? – In a break from tradition, AFL Hame of Fame inductee and Port Adelaide’s 2004 Premiership captain Warren Tredrea will be our MC for the night.

  1. Entertainment? – Following formalities (ie after the traditional announcement video of the host city for the 2023 AFL Masters National Carnival is shown), patrons will be entertained by Adelaide’s own Zkye (prounounced Skye) and the Guyz til closing.

  1. Issues on the night? – as your respective Event Captains, it would be greatly appreciated if you can train up all your troops to provide all their queries and ‘feedback’ on the night through you & then filter as appropriate onto me as required – will be a busy night & if you can help control the Chain of Command as much as possible that would be great.

  1. My mobile? – Enter 0418 210 599 into your phones if you haven’t already!

I really appreciate your collective help.

Kind regards
