AIA Austin Community Action Group

Are you interested in Housing matters and Community Building in Austin and want to get involved? This event is for you.

Hosted by AIA AUSTIN (American Institute for Architects)AIA AUSTIN (American Institute of Architects) and co--sponsored by Real Community Austin, a community of individuals and organizations committed to cultivating artful solutions to the challenges of Austin's urban development, this event will kick off a new AIA Austin initiative: DESIGN VOICE. 

DESIGN VOICE aims to provide a forum for the architectural community to connect and collaborate with the community interested in, and already engaged in, housing related matters and community building and to offer an additional creative resource to the community.

Event Program:

•    Introduction of a public community calendar and networking site hosted by Real Community Austin
•    Introduction of the 1% pro bono design program by Public Architecture
•  "Moshpit style"  speed meet and greet of related community groups and organizations
•    Exhibit opening of the 99k Design Competition Houston which challenged architects to design a house for 99K

The event is open to anyone interested in housing related matters and community building – it is not required to be an architect or designer.
