CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

Our Biloxi park project is coming together and we need construction
volunteers!

AUGUST 20-25, 2008, construction trip to Biloxi, MS

Volunteers will arrive in Biloxi Wednesday August 20 by plane or car.
Thursday and Friday will be work days with Saturday left to finish up
on site or enjoy an afternoon on the coast. Volunteers will depart
Sunday August 25th. Accommodations will be arranged and will cost $0
- $10/day/person.

Construction volunteers will be building tiled benches in Busch Park
as part of the master plan devised in our design charrettes. The
benches will incorporate ceramic tiles painted by local children s
art classes. This is a great opportunity to display community artwork
AND provide more seating for the park. Check out the master plan on

SUNDAY AUGUST 10 at 3:00pm, 1st construction workshop for musical
playground

This Busch Park Master Plan also includes a musical playground which
we will be splitting the construction of between Austin and Biloxi.
Our first construction workshop will be this SUNDAY AUGUST 10th at
3pm! We will be experimenting with materials to build our playground
instruments so bring tools and materials (metal pipes, hard woods,
pvc pipe, anything that makes noise) to 4209 Steve Scarborough and
turn my garage into a musical instrument workshop for the afternoon!
We will have a few of these meetings to refine and construct the
critical parts of our instruments which we will send to Biloxi with
assembly and installation drawings for volunteers to build. This is a
great chance to get involved with the construction of the park with
out actually traveling to Biloxi! Any one is welcome and needed! Just
catch up on the project on our open architecture network site!
