I've recently been attempting to look for Taito Type X ROMs and have little success. I recently found 2 websites for them, although they use MEGA to host the games so I can't even download the games due to the site being incredibly slow.
This first site only has Type X I believe: -type-x.html
This second site has Type X, X2, X3, X0, and X4: -taito-type-xx2x3x0x4-e-amusement-ex-board-arcade-pc/ The second one forces you to make an account to join. And encrypts the link, so you'll have to use this to decrypt it -link-decrypter.html
These shouldn't have viruses, but if they do please tell me. And if someone can please upload this to internet archive then I will love you forever. Thanks again!

"roms" is a weird description for games on this system. these are specialized games that run on windows.
So it's a quest for finding the right command line or shortcut and feed that to launchbox. taken that you have the proper pre-requirements installed on your PC allready.

Good luck!

Now for Launchbox, here's what I do: 1)Create a shortcut for each game I want to use, and name it accordingly to the game. 3) I add Teknoparrot as an emulator, with no specific paramaters. 3) Add your Taito TYpex game manually to Launchbox. 3) it is where some don't know what to do : under the "Emulation" Tab of the game. select Teknoparrot as an emulator and then check custom command line parameter and type

I've gone through three different sets of taito type x....hardly any of the games work, and a few even have some silly screen with acsii art that says it is a virus,...but I think it's just playing with people. Who knows. It's crazy that there isn't a full clean set out there by now, well, readily available that is.

Yeah I started to get the feeling that it was just a silly thing, but since this is my first time ever checking taito type x out, I was curious if there were any sets that were straightforward and worked, and just "ready to go" by now. I noticed austin had one game in my set that worked when I opened the batch file, and rotated everything correctly with his custom made bezel. I thought that was cool. But most of the other games didn't do anything. I'll try to give it another shot, thanks for your help.

Yeah there are "sets". The Taito X games are not traditional emulator paired with roms though. They are setup like pc games. Each one has it's own emulator executable and config settings. You have to set them up individually.

I think that I can't load as usually the roms+emulator from Tool --> Import --> Roms Files. Probably I have to manually add every game, with ADD button in LB and add every game details, am I right? If so, I'm not sure what I have to choose, for every game, in this form:

hopefully someone will be able to convert these to boot on windows just like it was on real hardware i have this and and older original ttx2 version (without roms)and mounted it to a hdd but can't extract the ui menu files to create a alternnate version for windows so i'm trying to replicate a knockoff from scratch still working on it

I would like to know a bit more about Neo Geo roms. There are three types of files, .bin, .rom, and .c#, and no dat file to map to (except for the MAME official database file), but I want the AES version and know if I can play it with MAME or FBA. What format is for what system? For instance I took one game as example, Garou, checked for it on the MAME database, and there are both types of them (bin and c#):

I'm not sure what I mean, when I hear people say everything Arcade, they also tend to include latest MAME romset, Demul romset, Supermodel romset, all Taito Type X games, all Daphne laserdisc, not sure fi I missed anything.

No need to keep your roms on an SSD, maybe larger iso files or chd images for MAME if you want to include those. As long as HS, all it's artwork, the preview vids and emus are on the SSD, you should be good. Loads if not all roms are so small in file size that loading them from either SSD or relatively fast HDD makes near as no difference.

My personal preference on my cab and my two gaming pc's is a 500 gig SSD drive for the OS and a 3-4 TB HD for roms with a detachable 4 tb usb drive that shares backup's and data for all 3. I also symlink all the important emulator files like bios, saves, sstates and custom configs to a free google drive account that syncs between all 3 that way I can continue play on any system I choose at anytime.

Hi, Ihave read the supermodelemu topic, and I'm having similar problems with taito type x lightgun games:
IN Gaiaattack4 for example seems to display properly at1280x768, butI need to run 640x480. Dxwnd does it right, but I'm using demulshooter, aprogram that provides dual gunsupport using rawinput.
without demulshooterI can check "correct mouse poition" and the aiming gets aligned.
But using demulahooter the aiming dont reaches the full axis. I tested the latest built with the rawinput option but no luck. Any idea? Thanks

I need to see the log with also the "correct mouse position" flag set. It doesn't matter if the gun crosshair is not moving, the log could tell me what's going on. But it seems that RawInput is definitely the problem: the RawInput calls are found in the executable (see the log) and the RawInput flag is changing something (currently for worse, but it doesn't matter). The RawInput logic would scale all input from mouse devices, maybe demulshooter is sending input data as coming from some other device type, or maybe there's simply some bug in the DxWnd logic.
Another interesting thing would be having a copy of the emulator program. Either it's a dedicated program or a console emulator, sharing the program alone (with no game ROMs) is relatively legal, so there should be no harm in posting the (zipped) exe here.
