Hello,

I've been using Affixa on my laptop for a while and now installed it on my desktop (Win 8.1 Update x64). There a problem I just can not solve: For security reasons my main account on my desktop is a regular user without administrator rights. Installing Affixa works (asks for admin permission) fine but I just can not grant access to a gmail account. This sign in screen shows up, I enter username and password and then the next screen stays blank. Nothing happens.

Starting Affixa as administrator allows me to grant access to the gmail account but then this account will not show up in the regular user's Affixa.

Any ideas how I can solve this problem? I got it to work on my laptop which is setup in a similar way but that was with an older version and I can not recall how I got it to work.

Thank you in advance
Oliver

Hi Oliver,

Can’t think of anything specific, however the mini web browser that pops up is based on Internet Explorer (regardless of what your default browser is).

Could you have something installed that prevents ordinary users from doing certain things?

All the best,

Chris

Thank you for your quick response, Chris.

I was thinking about the IE already. But, it's not installed on neither my desktop nor my laptop. One of the first things I deinstall when I set up my system. So therefore it really surprises me that the "grant access" works for the administrator account. Something that also left me puzzled is that it did not even work after I switched the user account to an admin account in order to get this to work. I am totally clueless...

Checking my laptop I see that I was able to give set up the gmail account in Affixa in my user account. When I start it up as admin there no account at all. As far as I recall this was set up quite some time ago with an older Affixa version and just updated recently.

Thanks again. I am staying on it!
Oliver

Since I already have Affixa registered within gmail I would like to know if there is a way to copy the working profile/account from my laptop to my desktop. Is there a way to copy it into another installation?

I don't know if my original post got through so I want to try again, Chris. Since Affixa already has the needed rights within gmail is it possible to export and import the working account profile from my laptop to my desktop?
