I just finished my viewing of How to Train Your Dragon (2025), and I can honestly say I feel so full of heart. I walked in feeling uncertain as the original animated version has such a classic status, however, this live-action version actually wowed me—in the best way!

The plot follows Hiccup, a young Viking who is different than the rest of his community. While the rest of the village sees dragons as dangerous adversaries, Hiccup thinks differently. Everything begins to change when he finds an injured dragon and helps it instead of harming it. His dragon is Toothless, who is both fierce and cute, and ultimately the friendship between these two boys is the heart and soul of the film.

What I liked best was the reality of it all—the emotions, the acting, even the dragons (and everything else) appeared real. The message of understanding and peace was clear and fitting for today. The visuals were stunning, and the excitement of flying on the back of Toothless created a sense of awe for me that gave me goosebumps.

A film to be filled with heart, bravery, and adventure. If you are a fan of the original or seeing the story for the first time, this one will entertain you. I streamed it at Afdah movies and everything went well.  A truly beautiful film to experience with family or solo.
