Hello all,
As you may be aware, the Placement Office is currently in the process of forming the Institute Placement Team for 2012-2013 graduating batch. The placement team will consist of three verticals consisting of final year students: (1) Department Placement Coordinators, (2) Company Coordinators, and (3) Placement Manager. Thay have completed the process for selection of
Placement Managers and the Company Coordinators.
As a next step in the process, Department Placement Coordinators (DPCs) have to be nominated from all programmes that have more than 15 students, excluding PhD, of every department
Eligibility:
Any pre-final year student, who would be eligible for campus placements in 2012-2013, would be eligible to contest for this post.
Process:
1. Candidates should file their nominations through an email sent to the DGSec and the
Placement Office (
placement@iitb.ac.in AND
placem...@iitb.ac.in) and submit their Manifesto by 21st May 2012
2. A SOP box, with the election panel and the electorate as audience, will be conducted for all candidates. This will immediately be followed by elections.
3. In cases where more than 2 candidates contest for the post, the top 2 in the first round of voting will be selected for a second round of voting, where the candidate receiving more votes will be nominated. At any stage, if a contestant secures a majority of 2/3rd of the corresponding electorate votes, he/she will be directly nominated. The nominated candidate should then submit his/her Manifesto to the
Placement Office along with the signature of one 2012-13
Placement Manager.
4. In case no contestant secures the required majority even after the second round, the matter will be referred to the Head of Department/IDP for nominating the DPC. The decision of the HOD will be final.
