Hi everyone,

I have used QGIS for a long time, but suddenly I got ended unexpectedly problems.

I tried to reinstall it a few times, but it still doesn't work.

If anyone have experiences about this error, please help me to resolve it.

Thank you for your time

Mỹ,

You haven't given much for us to work with here.

What is not working anymore? QGIS? QAequilibraE?

What were you doing on QAequilibraE when this first happened?

Have you tried a different version of QGIS?  I see that you are using the very latest release of the LTR, but I trust you have other versions laying around since you have been using QGIS for a long time.

Cheers,
Pedro

Hello Pedro,

Thank you for your quick response.

Before this issue occurred, I was using QGIS version 3.3 primarily to create spatial maps related to land cover in my research.

If I’m not mistaken, QGIS was working fine until I installed Python (using Anaconda and VSCode) on my PC. After that, QGIS stopped working and shows the message “QGIS ended unexpectedly” whenever I try to open it, as shown in the screenshot I attached.

I’ve already tried uninstalling and deleted Anaconda from my PC, and reinstalling QGIS (including the latest version) several times, but the issue still persists.

If you have any idea what might be causing this, I would greatly appreciate your advice on how to fix it.

Once, thank you for your time

QGIS ships its own version of Python, so installing Anaconda or any other Python distribution would NOT be the cause of any issues.

It is not even clear if you installed QAequilibraE at all.

Cheers,
Pedro

Hi All,

I installed the new version of QGIS 3.42.3 and the updated version of the QAequilibraE plugin and everytime I receive the following error message once the plugin installation is complete:

An error has occurred while executing Python code:

ImportError: The pyarrow installation is not built with support for the Parquet file format (DLL load failed while importing _parquet: The specified procedure could not be found.)

I tried downgrading the QGIS version to the long term 3.40 and I got the same error. I even uninstalled QGIS and removded all the relevant sub-folders and re-installed it again with no success. I tried four different PCs and still receiving the same error. I am not sure whether any other user is facing the same issue.

Cheers,
Mohamed

Mohamed,

QGIS recently upgraded its version of PyArrow in all its versions (3.40 & 3.42).

This will be fixed in a release early next week.

Cheers,
Pedro

It certainly sounds like something is interferring with your QGIS installation... It may be the other versions of python you have installed on your system or something completely unrelated.

In terms of this mailing list, we can only really help if the problem is QAequilibrae. To show if that is where the problem is I'd suggest completely removing QAequilbrae and if QGIS goes back to working as normal - then it's an Aeq related problem which we could help you with more.. otherwise i'd be suggesting posting to the QGIS help forums for more QGIS specific assistance.
