Good morning everyone!

With Veterans Day a few months away our basketball coaches are starting to brainstorm ideas as how our basketball team could honor veterans, during our season opening weekend, which happens to be during Veterans Day weekend this year.

One idea is to put an American Flag patch onto our basketball jerseys for the two games that we have during that weekend. The small problem being that we are not wanting to heat press or sewn the patch on. We would like to find some that you can just stick onto the jerseys, and remove before washing them; similar to the patches that the NCAA provides for teams that make the NCAA tournaments. The ones that the NCAA provides have some good adhesive on the back of them, and do a good job of sticking to the jerseys.

I have reached out to a company that we have local that does all of our embroidering, as well as a couple of companies that they use to order special patches for us, when we are honoring an event, or someone special to one of our sport programs. The only problem is that neither of them offer a patch that you can just stick onto the jersey. They either are the kind that have to be heat pressed on, our completely sewn on.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a company that can make a patch with the sticky adhesive on the back?

Thank you and I hope everyone has a good day!

They make the NCAA patches.

And they offer American flags as either a heat seal or pressure sensitive option.  I’ve used both.  We wear our flags full-time so we get the heat seal option then have them sewn down for good measure.  Their pressure sensitive option will hold just fine though.

I’d keep the backing once you put them on the first time, peel them off immediately postgame then reapply them for the next game.  It’s not recommended to wash them with those patches on if you plan to take them off.  The patches will leave some adhesive residue if laundered.
