Hello all,

A very belated Happy New Year to you all. I hope you had a nice summer break and are now into the full swing of 2026.

Sincere thanks to everyone who attended the 2025 conference - all 100 of you! I'm sure you'll agree that it was a huge success. All the conference papers have now been uploaded to the AEES website and can be found here: https://aees.org.au/2025-papers/

The minutes to the 2025 Annual General Meeting, which was held on the Friday afternoon (21 November), are attached to this email.

This year's conference will be held in Launceston, Tasmania on Thursday 26 to Saturday 28 November. We are now looking for committee members to assist with organizing this conference. Please get in touch - especially those members from (or familiar with) Tasmania. A call for Abstracts will be made in the coming weeks.

Below is a list of other conferences coming up which may be of interest to our members:
· New Zealand Society For Earthquake Engineering (NZSEE) - 15-17 April 2026, Wellington https://confer.eventsair.com/nzsee2026/
· International Conference on Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (ICEES) - 17-20 May 2026, Kusadasi Turkiye https://iceesturkey.org/ (Please note the Australian Government's Travel Advice here: https://www.smartraveller.gov.au/destinations/europe/turkiye)

· International Symposium on Lifeline Earthquake Engineering - 6-8 December 2026, Perth - more information to come.

I'm sure I've probably missed some conferences/ meetings - please let me know and I'll add it to the list.

As always, please feel free to contact me with any suggestions or concerns regarding the Society.

Sincerely,

Dee
