Hi Martin,

I recently upgraded to Oreo and now it seems that the
"copy and get translation"
feature somehow got lost in the change of selection/paste
method on Oreo.

Do you have any suggestion how to proceed, or whether there is a way
to fix that?

Thanks

Norbert

Do you mean that the Aedict Reader does not pick up the clipboard and
doesn't attempt to translate it? If yes, does Google Translator work? I
don't have an Oreo so I can't test that.

Best,
Martin

Hi Martin

Sorry for the nose, I realized that the reader is not surinamese started and that I have to start it manually.

After doing this the reader popup works again.

Sorry for the nose

Hi Norbert,

Sure, no problem :-) does it not start because of Oreo, or because you configured it that way?

Best regards,
Martin

Jumping in to say that I myself am using Marshmallow, but I noticed after a recent Aedict Reader app update that I had to manually start the updated Aedict Reader app itself one time, before the automatic "Watch Clipboard" popup would work again while in other apps.

Where could I configure that? I would love to see the aedict reader autostart
after a reboot, but don't know how?

It is enough to have the "Watch Clipboard" setting checked. After it's
checked, the Aedict Reader will receive BOOT_COMPLETED from Android and
will start the clipboard watching service.

Please note however that BOOT_COMPLETED may not be sent to all apps, as
an Android security measure. Please see
https://stackoverflow.com/a/19856367 for more details.

Best regards,
Martin

Where can this be found?

Ok, I will check that one.

Thanks

It's right in the Settings, in the "Service" category. Just find the
"cog wheel" icon which should take you to the Settings screen.
