firefox updated to 57 so clippings did also?!
ALL clippings GONE! (well not gone, but where are they?!?!?
did not make a backup, didnt know that it was needed!
checked the blog - searched for "clippings-backup" and ".clipbak" neither found!
where else MIGHT the clippings backup folder be?
great addon but things like this are going to drive people away -- maybe need an automatic backup and someone that is easy to find....

Most file manager applications (e.g. Windows Explorer on Windows, or Finder on macOS) have the ability to search for files and folders on the system. Have you tried using that to locate the Clippings backup folder?

Yes, search using Windows Explorer. Searched c:\ drive Windows 10
No "clippings-backup" or ".clipbak" foundlooked through every folder in the profiles directory

No, the new install of Clippings 6 and Firefox 57 should not overwrite your existing profile data, including the Clippings data source file (clipdat2.rdf) and the backup folder.

clipdat2.rdf is NOT found - was that mean?
Clippings did reinstall/update when Firefox did so shouldn't there be a file named clipdat2.rdf even if my clipping are not there?
Is the 'backup' file named something like clippings.* or have clippings in the name?

I have pretty much the same problem, though I actually have two clippings left.
In upgrading to Waterfox 56.0.4.1, the profile was moved to a new location. I assume that's why it's all gone horribly wrong. The only backup I can find matches what I was currently shown - only two clippings, instead of at least a couple of dozen.
It seems if I "upgrade" to Firefox 57, most of my add-ons won't be supported, so I'm in no hurry to do that.

Yesterday I opened my browser and found that all the notes had deleted. Your application was empty.
Clippings 6 does not perform an automatic backup, so I had to use a backup made TWO MONTHS ago.
This is a catastrophe. I do not know what to do.
