My Understanding So Far: Given ARM-based Chromebooks can stream Netflix (and Netflix uses the WideVine CRM plugin), I am lead to believe a Chrome OS installation should contain the files I'm after. As I don't have access to an ARM-based Chromebook, my next best is a Chromebook recovery image.

In this case, the partition you're looking for is labelled ROOT-A, and corresponds to the third partition (/dev/mapper/loop0p3). For some reason, opening it in my file manager directly didn't work, so I had to mount it manually by running sudo mount -t ext2 /dev/mapper/loop0p3 -o ro /media/saikrishna/chromeos/. This will mount the ext2 partition in read-only mode in the /media/saikrishna/chromeos directory (change the last part to an existing empty directory on your system).

Keep pressing and releasing on the power button for around 10 times, it will boot then, after booting up, it works normally until next power off. I am sure it is something wrong in the coreboot or firmware but not the hardware itself.

If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,
Followed by clicking on "Accept as solution" from the drop-down menu on the upper right corner,
Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum. Have a great day!

Tried all methods found here and on internet including recovery, powerwash and memory retrain, cannot solve the issue, I am sure there is a bug in the bootloader causing this behaviour, looks like my repeated tapping on the power button did the magic and bypassed / changed something during bootloader and started the OS correctly.

Ok. My issue is that I cannot upgrade just this second. I need to quickly get setup on this new machine and can then work on upgrading Passbolt. Do we know what the expected URL would be that would allow for the chome extension to recover? If I could at least manually craft the recovery URL I could get going with this machine and work on the Passbolt upgrade.

The Google Chrome operating system powers Dell's Chromebooks. It is based on Google's popular Chrome Browser. It has been developed to provide a fast, simple, and more secure computing experience for users who spend most of their time online.

All local data that is stored on your Dell Chromebook can be cleared by resetting it to its original factory settings. This is also known as a PowerWash. This is of most use when you are having user profile difficulties on your device. Most troubleshooting guides recommend trying a reset before you attempt to recover your Chromebook.

This means installing a new version of the ChromeOS on your Dell Chromebook by going through the recovery process. You would want to do this after a major part replacement. (Motherboard or Storage Drive.) Alternatively, if you are having problems updating your Chromebook or if it stops working.

Do you see a ChromeOS is missing or damaged message? If you do, try a hard reset of your Chromebook first. Hold Down Refresh + Power together. If the message continues, carry on with this guide.

Do you see a ChromeOS verification is turned off message instead? Pressing Ctrl + D together enables you to enter developer mode. However, if you press the Space Bar instead - the screen asks you to recover your device.

Click Select a model from a list. (Alternatively, type in the model number of the Chromebook you want to recover. The bottom of the error message on the faulty Chromebook screen gives you the number.)

If you run into trouble while carrying out any of the steps above, the following table has some helpful tips on resolving them. If you are still having issues after this, contact us to take this further.

I am running chrome on ubuntu 16.04. Every time I reboot my machine and reopen chrome, chrome tells me that it was not closed properly and needs to restore my tabs. I tried disabling chrome's ability to run background apps, as noted here, with no success.

I too see this problem with chrome not shutting down properly on Ubuntu 17.10. In my case it turned out to be the forecastfox extension. When it's running and I close chrome I can see in system monitor that the browser has not shut down completely and problems do occur when I start chrome the next time from chrome crashing to tabs needing to restore. If I disable forecastfox chrome shuts down fine and I see no problems the next time I open it.

I did however literally just find that if I logout before I reboot then it's fine. Not exactly a "solution", however it seems to appease the Chrome gods and allow it to exit gracefully.

I need your swarm knowledge today and hope you can help me a bit.
I use Leaflet to display 2D maps in an app. Similar to Google Maps, an image is split into small tiles in several zoom levels. If you zoom in and pan back and forth, more tiles are dynamically reloaded. Since we switched to Traefik, this no longer works properly. Everything works initially, but after about 3000 requests, not all tiles are loaded. Chrome Developer Network shows that there are several open connections in the "pending" state. After that, nothing really works. If I restart Traefik, it works again immediately.

The source of the problem is that with HTTP/2, the browser can now send all HTTP requests concurrently over a single connection.
In most cases the backend servers cannot handle to many concurrent requests and this leads to pending requests.
You can customize the number of concurrent request according to the backend servers performance using the http2.maxconcurrentstreams static parameter:

Even if I'm sorry for you, I'm happy that I'm not the only one who feels this problem. In the meantime I have given up the analysis, from my point of view the cause is clearly identified related to HTTP2. Other reasons could be excluded if we use an NGINX container instead of Traefik.

I ran into an issue expressing itself in the same way recently (requests get through to the API container but chrome never accepts or gets their answer) and seem to have solved it thanks to this thread. Takeaways from my side:

I have an issue with restore pages popup ,where it is occurring anywhere while bot running
how can I resolve.
Is that I need to create library and use or do we should I use parallel activity any other solutions which I can get rid of this chrome restore pages popup issue.

Restoring tab lets you start from where you left once you come back to Google Chrome. This feature is indeed very useful in terms of the prevention of data loss. However, at times, this feature can also get problematic for you. We can stop Google...

I don't know how Gmail operates in the browser, buy I assume it's a mix of HTML and Javascript. Some of that may have been cached at some time (and it's not at all sure that that included your mail text).Depending on your OS, if you remember unique keywords from that mail, you could try a search through all files in the cache directory and a search through free disk space with a file recovery tool (Google e.g. "search through erased file space" to find some). Your chances are slim, and any disk writes that have occured/are occurring on the disk make them even smaller, so boot that machine from a CD.

I try to reboot my Hisense Chromebook c11 when I hit esc, refresh, and power, it says "Chrome OS is missing or damaged. Pleas insert a recovery USB stick or SD card. " When I hit tab, it also says 0x02 recovery button pressed. To reboot I hit ctrl D and i hit enter, I hit tab again and it says 0x00 / 0x00 recovery not requested. After it beeps twice it goes black and wont turn back on again until I hit esc, refresh, and power again. If anyone knows whats happening please tell me.

My grandson had his for 2 months and his did this. I do the same as the comment above and it goes through until it finally says press SPACE and it will reboot but it never reboots. It goes black again and shuts off. Best Buy wants $300 to fix it. It cost $169. Really? It's not worth it especially since he only had it 2 months before it stopped working.

You need to download the Chrome Recovery Utility app on another working computer with the Chrome browser (this can be a Windows or Mac, doesn't matter as long as it's Chrome). You can find it in the Chrome app store. If you don't have another computer, ask a friend.

Then you'll need a SD card and reader, or a thumbdrive. DO NOT USE SANDISK BRAND. They do not work. (I know, because I tried and had to go buy a different brand of thumbdisk. Don't know why, but Sandisk does not work with Chrome Recovery Utility).

On the working computer, open up the app in Chrome, and follow the on-screen instructions. You'll need your Chromebook's serial number to set up the recovery disk. Your Chromebook should display it as a part of the error message. One the disk is prepared, you'll need to insert the disk into your Chromebook, and let it do it's thing.

I LITERALLY just had this happen to me on Tuesday this week (7.8.16) with my Hisense Chromebook, so I know this works. I've had mine for a year and it's developed a glitchy battery. Think this caused an improper shutdown and a memory issue to occur, resulting in the OS error.
