Error: Illegal characters in the string

Hi all,

When trying to save my Network text ad, i am getting the error There are illegal characters in the string.

I have read all the information around and triple check i am not incorrectly using capitalisation, spacing, symbols or going over the character limit. Any suggestions. Currently my ad looks like the following:

Final URL: http://www.baysideaquatics.com.au/toddler.htm 

Headline 1: Toddler Swim Classes

Headline 2: Bayside Aquatic Mentone

Path: toddler.htm

Description: Learn water familiarisation & safety awareness with games, songs & activities.

Hi Matt,

You discussed that you are saving your Network text ad. Are you saving this ad through the UI or are you using AdWords Scripts? It sounds as though this might be through the UI and thus a question for the product team. I'd suggest reaching out to the AdWords product team but looking at the ad it seems that you might be facing an issue with the amperstand.

I've seen that same error and it actually meant "too many characters" although your ad seems fine and not over limits.
NB  you don't need to put the .htm in the Path entry.  Perhaps it's the dot in that field though I don't believe so.

Try removing http link and keeep the plain site link like www.example.com

Your issue appears to be specific to the AdWords UI, not AdWords Scripts. I recommend that you post your issue to the AdWords Community Forum so that their team can help you out.

It's the fullstop character in the Display Path fields.

Take out the ".php"
