It employs a TARGET_ROAS bidding strategy. This type of bidding strategy does not support target roas

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to update the Target ROAS value for a Shopping campaign that uses a TARGET_ROAS bidding strategy at the campaign level (not a portfolio strategy).

When I check the campaign's bidding configuration, I get:

getStrategySource() returns "CAMPAIGN"
getStrategyType() returns "TARGET_ROAS"
getStrategy() returns null

I've tried using setTargetRoas() directly with AdsApp.shoppingCampaigns(). But this throws the error: 

'campaign name - shopping' employs a TARGET_ROAS bidding strategy. This type of bidding strategy does not support target roas.

Note: The same code works perfectly for Search campaigns with MAXIMIZE_CONVERSION_VALUE + Target ROAS and for Performance Max campaigns.

Is there a specific method to update the Target ROAS for Shopping campaigns with a TARGET_ROAS strategy type? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would like to inform you that for updating bidding strategy to Target ROAS (shopping campaigns), you need at least 15 conversions per Merchant Center ID (with valid conversion values) in the past 30 days. I would suggest that you refer to this article for more information about requirements for setting Target ROAS bidding strategy.

If you are still facing the same issue even after meeting all the requirements, kindly get back to us with the Google Ads account ID/CID and name of the affected script.
