Hi,

I'm looking to schedule scripts that access data such as keyword Top Impression Share % to automate the bidding process.

How often does this metric get update? How do I find out how frequently certain report data metrics are updated?

This will help me plan my script schedules to take advantage of the freshest data.

Looking forward to a positive reply.

Regards

Hello there,

I’m James from the Google Ads Scripts Team. Thank you for reaching out to us.

To get the Keywords with top impressions in your bidding process, you can use the SearchTopImpressionShare or TopImpressionPercentage metric under Keywords Performance Report table.

Most reports and metrics are continuously updated but the data is not available right away after several changes happened with the said metric, as it will take up to three hours to register on your end. Keep in mind that this is normal behavior. To know more about this you may refer to this help center article about data’s freshness.

Hi,

Just to confirm, are you saying Top and Abs. Top IS data is continuously updated but simply delayed around 3 hours?
So if I set my IS bid optimization script to run every hour it'll be handling different data every hour but with a delay of around 3 hours?
One of my concerns is running the script every hour and the data hasn't changed and my script will make changes on inaccurate data.

Also the  data’s freshness article lacks a lot of specifics around certain metrics.

Hello,

Harry here, teammate of James on the Google Ads Scripts Team.

Your account statistics (such as clicks, conversions and impressions) are generally delayed by less than three hours and there would be a lot of factors to be considered as to when a data can be ready or how much time would it take to be processed. With that being said, if you would like to get further information on the specific metrics in question, then I would suggest that you reach out to our Google Ads Product Team instead as they are more equipped in assisting you in this regard. You can reach out to them through this link.

Thanks,
