Can’t Apply Labels to Ad Groups in Google Ads Script (Video Campaigns)

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to apply a label to an ad group while managing my video campaigns in Google Ads Scripts.

Here’s a simplified version of my approach:

if (adGroupLabel) {
  // Intending to apply label to ad group
  adGroup.applyLabel(adGroupLabel);  // This doesn’t work
}

For campaigns, I successfully use campaign.applyLabel(campaignLabel), but for ad groups, there doesn’t seem to be an equivalent applyLabel() method.

🔎 Questions:

1. Is there a way to apply labels to ad groups (specifically for video ad groups) using Google Ads Scripts?

2. If not, is switching to the Google Ads API (e.g., using AdGroupLabelService) the only option to achieve this?

I’d appreciate any guidance on this!

I would like to inform you that, you are able to apply labels for the ad groups specific to video campaigns. I would suggest you to refer to the "AdsApp.​VideoAdGroup" documentation to use the "applyLabel" method on the video ad groups. You can select the required video ad groups by using "AdsApp.​VideoAdGroupSelector" and further you can apply the label during the ad groups iteration.

Feel free to get back in case of any further issues by providing us with the following:

• Google Ads account ID/CID
• Name of the script
