Exclude Mobile application category

Hi guys

I am looking for a way to exclude a campaign from mobile application category.

Can not seems to find a way to do that via script

I only found it is not supported at campaign.display().placements()

Hi Harry

Thanks for reaching out.

I am working on a script to duplicate an existing campaign with all sub ad groups and ads.

I think I got most of the properties set except for "Mobile application category" that I have set on my ref campaign (in the UI Campaign->Placements->Exclusions)

- see screenshot

I was able to set exclusion lists but not the individual categories (did not find how to iterate them nor set)

Thanks for coming back. Unfortunately, Mobile app placements and mobile app category placements are not supported in the Google Ads Script as of today. Please see Placements for your reference.

On the other hand, I can reach out to the rest of the team and communicate a feature request on your behalf. However, all requests are subject for consideration and will not be guaranteed to be supported through scripts. Kindly confirm if you would like me to proceed with such request and provide a sample use case or benefit of the feature to your requirement/business.

One more request, is it possible to add a deep clone capability to each entity?

So for example campaign.clone(), will create a new campaign holding all settings, adGroups and ads of the original?

Hi David,

I have now filed your request for support of mobile app category placements. Just to reiterate, all requests are subject for consideration and are not guaranteed to be supported anytime soon in the Google Ads Scripts. In the meantime, please follow our blog for updates and new releases.

As for your additional request, I do not think this would be viable for scripts as of the moment as you would already know, not all features/entities that are offered in the UI is supported in the Google Ads Scripts. Deep cloning campaigns would be a lot of work as all the entities that are not supported would have to be considered also. In addition, the UI does offer to copy and paste campaigns, ad groups, ads, audiences and keywords which I think would be the best option for you right now. Please see this article for more information.

Nevertheless, if you would still insist on this additional request, let me know so I can pass it along to the rest of the team as well.
