I am right now using Script Which is Adding Negative Keywords in Google Shopping

Google Shopping Keyword Bidding Script

But Seems Like Script is not Running As Expected

e.g

Could not find any ad groups with impressions that matched the given names.

I created Spread Sheet in the below format

Keyword, Campaign , Ad group & Match Type
[keyword], [Campaign Name] , [Adgroup Name], [exact]

Seems like There is any issue with format ?

I created 2 campaigns like in script
1 - Broad
2 - Exact

But Seems like Script not adding Negatives in Exact Campaign as i already put exact negatives in Broad Campaign

Where is the issue ? can any one have idea ?

Hi,

I am reaching out to you because I am facing the issue with this script :
I've followed step by step their explanation.

1 - I have created I google sheet file with campaign Name > ag group Name > KW > ad group ID (screen attached)
2 - I have created 2 campaigns :
                 - 1 BM ( Shopping store [High]) with High Priority
                 - 1 EM (Shopping store [Low]) with Low priority and keyword exclusion (as required by BrainLab)
But when I click on preview, I see no modifications.

Here is my question

How will the script understand in which campaign I need to exclude search terms ?
-> my sheet file only refers to the "Shopping store [Low]" campaign but never about the Shopping store [High] campaign ?

Thanks a lot for your help !

Hi Vic,

Thanks for reaching out. Harry here, from the Google Ads Scripts Team.

Kindly provide your Google Ads account ID, script's name and a shareable link to your spreadsheet if available so I can take a look closer at the issue you are encountering. You may send the spreadsheet privately via the reply to author option. However, I'd appreciate it if you can possibly create a new thread for better tracking of issues on our end.

Looking forward to your reply.

Hi,

Many thanks for your answer,
I have just shared with you the spreedsheet ( the reply to author option isn't available for me).
My google ads Account is 594-285-4985 and script's name is "Automatic Exclusion Shopping - BrainLab"

Best regards

Hi Vic,

Thanks for coming back. Unfortunately, I was not able to access the sheet through the link you have provided so would you mind enabling sharing via link and send the new link privately? You may also opt to provide a local copy of the sheet instead. Also, can you kindly provide to a screenshot of the specific error you are encountering? It does not seem that there were any logged errors regarding your script so I would assume that you are only using the script via preview. Additionally, please note that no objects get created, deleted, or modified during preview. As a consequence, certain code will not execute the same way when previewed. Please see Preview Mode for more details.

Let me know your thoughts.

Hi,

Alright, from what what I've seen it should at least show a few exclusions ?
I can't use the "reply to author" option. Can I send it to you by email to
adwords...@googlegroups.com
 ?

Hi Victor,

I've checked the script and cannot find any issue in it. Since the script was made by Brainlabs. Have you tried contacting their support? If not, since this is a third-party script created by BrainLabs, It's best to contact BrainLabs as they are the script creator for this third-party script. You may reach out to their support through this link.

Hi Harry,
Yes I did, but i'm still pending on their answer :/
But with the script as it is now :
I don't understand how the matching between the BM Shopping campaign (with High Priority) and the EM Shopping campaign (with Low priority) will be made ? As the the BM Shopping campaign does not have to be written anywhere in the script (unless , I forgot to replace something in it).

I've just executed the script to see how it goes, and here is what I have :
"
16/11/2021 10:41:20
Found 59 keywords for 12 ad groups in 1 campaign(s).

16/11/2021 10:41:20

Could not find any ad groups with impressions that matched the given names."

I've seen a topic regarding this message, which says it was due to a spacing error.
But once corrected, the Author of the post does not explain it further unfortunately...

Hi Victor,

Thanks for coming back. I have troubleshoot the script to the best I can but it seems that it is behaving as intended or is simply not finding any ad groups based on your settings. For further assistance, I'd recommend following up on Brainlabs support team or use our Solutions scripts instead for your requirement.

Let me know how I can assist you further.

Thanks,

Hi There,
Thanks a lot for your answer, and sorry for the delay.
The Script is now working well, but there are few things I don't understand.
You will find here the file which displays Exact keyword targeted / keyword excluded (after running the script) / Search terms for the ad group "Store Vénitien SM" in the campaign "Shopping Store [Low]".
It seems that the script only excluded the first keyword unqualified in search queries.
E.g
Store Leroy Merlin =>only "Leroy" is excluded
Is there any way to upgrade this script in order to exclude each unqualified keyword contained in a single query ?

Many Thanks,

Vcitor

Hi Vcitor,

I work along with Harry. Allow me to assist you in this.

With regard to your concern, could you elaborate what you mean by "exclude each unqualified keyword contained in a single query"? Please provide a use case scenario and examples, so we could check.

Hi Teejay,

Thank you for your response,
Sure, let's say for example, in the search term :
"Store Leroy Merlin" => both "Leroy" and "Merlin" should be excluded.
We could see it like this "store (ok) leroy (to exclude) merlin (to exclude)"
But it seems that the script as it is now only exclude the first unqualified keyword (=leroy) when it reads "store leroy merlin" and the the second one (merlin)
if the search term was "store merlin leroy", I guess it would only exclude "merlin" as it would come in first.

Hope this helps,

Thanks again for your help;

Hi Victor,

Thanks for providing further context. I believe you could modify lines 134 - 152 in the script where it checks for keywords that needs to be excluded. However, since the requirement you are trying to achieve would be an added feature to the third party script, then I would recommend reaching out to their support team instead for better assistance. On other hand, I would also recommend using our very own Negative Keyword Conflicts instead.

Let me know how I can assist you further.
