Hi Matt,
Short answer:
- I know that this can be done manually but i don't want to do manually via the UI. The reason for this: Humans wrote scripts for repetitive monotonous tasks.
Long answer:
I don't understand why Google makes users life harder: I'm talking about mobile app exclusion. ->
- I've started with App Category Placement exclusion: I've excluded all app categories through the UI.
- Despite of app category exclusion mobil apps still appearing in the Where Ads Shown report with clicks and cost.
- I've contacted with Google Ads support, their answer was as follows: Because there is not option for switching on G-mob mobile app non interstitial content exclusion, ads can still appear in mobile apps, in spite of the fact i've setup all App Category Placement exclusion.
There is no one switch method to exclude mobile apps through the ui. The only option is to read the display campaign where ads shown report daily and put apps one by one to placement exclusion. I wanted to automatize this but as you wrote i can not automatize.
Conslusion:
Advertisers can not exclude all mobile apps in Display with Account / Campaign / Ad Group settings. That's why ads appear on mobile apps. These unwanted mobile app clicks generates fraud clicks(click = cost!) from apps which have 24H-48H lifetime in Google Play store.
Because there is no option to automatize mobile app placement exclusion, the only option left: put these apps with your own hand to placement exclusion daily and pay for unwanted clicks.
Last question:
- Where can i submit a complaint about mobil app exclusion and fraud clicks from mobile apps?
