Errors like "Could not create script at this time. Please try again at a later time." for a couple of days?

Hi -

Is this happening to everyone? I'm getting errors creating, previewing, etc., in Google Ads Scripts this weekend. I think the first problems were Friday. 

I typically code in Visual Studio Code and copy over anyway, but it concerns me since I have so many pieces of automation running on accounts and at the MCC level.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for posting your concern.

Could you confirm if you are still encountering the error? I tested in my test account but I wasn't able to replicate the same issue.

If the issue persists, could you provide the following information via Reply privately to author?

  • Script name

I have been experiencing the same issue as well for creating a new script. I have to click back, click create new script and repeating until it works. It eventually does work, and once the script is created I'm good to go, but it has been happening for at least 3 days.

That's what I've been seeing too. Occasionally it works the first time, but yesterday the rule was it took more times than one to create scripts in most cases. 

I wish there was a way to programmatically add scripts ;-)

Hi Hiroyuki -

As mentioned by Charles in his reply, this is happening to other people. I've confirmed with other people I know from Reddit and we haven't found a pattern, such as geographic location (unless entire US is a pattern) or account (new, old, MCC or direct account) attributes. 

I haven't tried today, and as long as it works after multiple tries, it's no big deal (beyond being frustrating). So far I haven't found any issues with scheduled scripts failing; however, the same type of error happens sometimes when opening an existing script and attempting to preview. The message in those cases is something about unable to execute, try again later. After multiple attempts, the preview will work.

Thus far its just been adding a new script or saving the (source code) to an existing script that gives me the errors. Running the scripts/previews seem to be ok.

Actually, it’s possible I’m clicking Save before previewing, as I am copying in code I edit in another tool.

Ha - I am not sure but I’ll be conscious of this going forward. Thanks for your replies Charles!!

I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but as a workaround, please repeat the previewing/creating scripts until it works for now.
