Is there a way to trigger Google Ads Scripts externally (e.g., via API or Python)?

I'm currently using Google Ads Scripts under Tools → Bulk Actions → Scripts to automate certain account tasks. Right now, I can only run these scripts manually through the UI or by scheduling them to run hourly/daily.

I'm looking for a way to trigger the execution of a Google Ads Script externally — ideally from a tool like Retool or via a Python backend. Is there any API endpoint, OAuth flow, or other method that allows me to programmatically execute a script?

If not, are there any recommended workarounds (e.g., migrating script logic to the Google Ads API) that could achieve similar automation?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads Scripts Support team.

It's not possible to trigger Google Ads Scripts externally via API or Python, and unfortunately, there aren't any workarounds available. The only option is to manually run the script within the Google Ads interface and schedule it to run at your preferred frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly).

I hope this clarifies. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Thanks,
