Hello,
I received the email about the migration of the new Script experience by 31st October. In my MCC account I have got 2 scripts of the previous experience taken from your official library:
  • MCC Link Checker
  • MCC Account Anomaly Detector Template
However, in the Solutions section of the official Google Ads Scripts site, there are just the new scripts related to Single Accounts.

So, I was wondering how to migrate the MCC scripts above and/or if there will be added the MCC Scripts updated with the new experience.

Thank you

Same question here. Will the documentation be extended to Multi Accounts soon?

Thanks for your answer.

I posted the same question 8/23 asking where the MCC-level Link Checker script was in the new experience. Still haven't heard anything in a week.

Hi All,

Thank you for reaching out to us. This is Yasmin from the Google Ads Scripts team.

I'm afraid I cannot give a definite timeline on when these scripts will be migrated to our latest documentation at the MCC level. With this, I would suggest that you continue to execute the said solution script in the legacy version of Google Ads Script (by toggling off the new experience option in the script interface in the meantime) until it has been fully migrated and released in our latest documentation.

Rest assured that the team will provide their best effort to lessen the script changes, so that the migration of the solution script will be hassle free and easy to our users. The team will also provide an ample amount of time for users migrating to the new solution script once available.

For any updates on this, I suggest that you keep an eye on our Ads Developer Blog or latest documentation.

Regards,

Hi Yasmin

Thanks for your answer. May I quote from your newsletter we received on July, 11th?

"Our legacy Google Ads scripts will be replaced by the new Google Ads scripts experience which features improved developer ease-of-use and more advanced query language.

Any scripts left unmigrated will be automatically migrated and may be paused on October 31, 2022, when legacy scripts sunset."

Again, will all scripts we are running in the legacy version at the MCC level be running after legacy scripts sunset? If not, how can we make sure that the scripts are not migrated automatically? You mentioned a possibility to toggle off the new experience option in the script interface. How can we to that?

Thanks for your answers.

Hello Timo,

This is Maia, I work along with Yasmin. Allow me to provide you further insights on this matter below:

For your question, will all scripts we are running in the legacy version at the MCC level be running after legacy scripts sunset?

  • I believe that after October 31, all scripts will now be completely running in the New Scripts experience environment. However, if any of your scripts that are still using the Legacy features will be paused as it must accomodate the New Script Experience (by migrating it).

For your follow up question, how can we make sure that the scripts are not migrated automatically? You mentioned a possibility to toggle off the new experience option in the script interface. How can we to that?

  • For now, you may still toggle off the New Script experience button to continually use the script in the Legacy version. However, I believe that by after October 31 and you have not yet migrated your scripts. The script codes within that script won't be automatically changed to the new script experience. As per this blog post, we can't guarantee that all scripts will work without changes; therefore, you should manually update your scripts to accomodate the New Scripts Experience.

As my colleague has mentioned, the team will also provide an ample amount of time for users migrating to the new solution script once available. For updates on this matter, kindly keep an eye on our Ads Developer Blog or latest documentation. I would also suggest for you to look out for our Google Ads scripts office hours where you can book sessions to help you migrate to the new scripts experience. There are currently no sessions being offered, but once we offer sessions in the future, this page will be updated with details.

Hello Maia

Thank you for your answer, which is anything but satisfactory.

"we can't guarantee that all scripts will work without changes; therefore, you should manually update your scripts to accomodate the New Scripts Experience."

The problem is that in the developer area there are still no solutions for scripts that work at MCC level.

Since all our scripts work on MCC level, they will not work after October 31.

This is more than annoying and I don't understand why the deadline for sunset is not extended then.

Hello,

We are working on rolling out solutions, and hope to have many new ones, including MCC ones, posted soon.

In the meanwhile, we are monitoring migration progress closely to see if an extension to the migration deadline is warranted. Any announcements in this regard will be posted on our blog.

Regards,
Mike, Google Ads Scripts Team
