Hi Adwords Team,
Intro
Our event stream captures the GCLID when a customer lands on our website, it stores the ID along with a UTC timestamps.
We have recently implemented a daily script that will run between 04:00 UTC - 06:00 UTC in the morning. It will collect a list of conversions that the company has made over the past X days, but ignoring those conversions that took place in the past 24 hours due to the recommended delay specified in the API documentation.
The data that is submitted to google will preserve the timezone information and check to make sure that the Google Offline Conversion Feed Service returns no errors. If errors are returned our data engineering team will be automatically alerted and we will step in to resolve the errors.
Problem
For the past week we have been running out script and no errors have been raised when sending this data via the API. Thus we expected Google to have received and processed all our conversions.
- On the 25th we sent: 1 conversion
- On the 26th we sent: 139 conversions
- On the 27th we sent: 109 conversions
- On the 30th we sent: 312 conversions
When we look at the conversion dashboard in google and select it to show All conversions this morning it showed 589, two were missing.
After refreshing it a few hours later we see this number has now dropped to 588, so three are now missing.
Question
- How reliable is data in the Adwords web console? It appears to fluctuate, at what point is it stable?
- We would like to run a reconciliation at the click level to see which clicks are missing. I'm able to access all the necessary data in our internal systems, please can you suggest how I can see click level data so I can verify the IDs of the missing conversions?
If you have any other suggestions for the above problems please let me know.
Regards,
