Hello,
Can you please let me know what's the meaning of the impact of a recommendation? Can I estimate the performance by using potentialMetrics - baseMetrics? And the ResponsiveSearchAdRecommendation only has a baseMetrics in the impact field, does it means that if I apply this recommendation, the new ResponsiveSearchAd might achieve the baseMetrics?

Hi,

Thank you for your questions.

Regarding the following items :
  • Can you please let me know what's the meaning of the impact of a recommendation?
  • Can I estimate the performance by using potentialMetrics - baseMetrics?
For the definition of a recommendation you can refer to this article. If you wish to learn more or discuss further such as how the performance is calculated, and since the above are generally more of a Product related concern, I would recommend that you reach out to the Google Ads Product Support team instead, via this link.

As for your last item :
  • And the ResponsiveSearchAdRecommendation only has a baseMetrics in the impact field, does it means that if I apply this recommendation, the new ResponsiveSearchAd might achieve the baseMetrics?
The base_metrics of the object (ex. ResponsiveSearchAd) should return the current value of the metrics associated to the object. The potential_metrics on the other hand should contain the estimated value of future performances, after the recommendation is applied. That said, could you confirm if your request is not returning values in the potential_metrics field? If yes, could you provide the complete request and response logs, with the request-id

If you haven't yet, logging can be enabled by navigating to the Client libraries > Your client library (ex. Java) > Logging documentation, which you can access from this link. You may then retry your request to generate the logs.

You may then send the requested information via the Reply privately to author option. If this option is not available, you may send the details directly to our googleadsa...@google.com alias instead.

Best regards,
