I read somewhere that you should not upload a conversion "too soon" after the click because Google Ads needs some time (4-6 hours) to incorporate the GCLID from the click into their internal database. True?

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

After creating a new conversion action, you need to wait 4-6 hours before uploading conversions for that conversion action. If you upload conversions during the first 4-6 hours, it might take 2 days for those conversions to appear on your reports. I would recommend you to refer to this help center article for more detailed information. If you are trying to upload the conversions using the Google Ads API, then you will encounter a TOO_RECENT_CONVERSION_ACTION error. You need to wait at least 6 hours after the action is created before retrying the failed conversions. I would recommend you to refer to this guide for more information. However, if you are trying to upload the conversions to the old conversion action ID which was already created, then you don't need to wait instead you can upload the conversions immediately after the click occurs.

Thanks,
