How is it 2025, now v20 and still no access to the Auction Insights in API

I have seen conversation going back for MANY YEARS now and it doesn't ever seem to materialise but this is a serious feature I know many people want. 

Is there some kind of issue with allowing access to auction insights?

Is there even an intended timescale?

I really wish this would just get added already :(

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team. 

Note that the 'auction insights metrics' feature is available only for the allowlisted accounts in the Google Ads API. The following metrics are not accessible through the Google Ads API: 

• auction_insight_search_absolute_top_impression_percentage
• auction_insight_search_impression_share
• auction_insight_search_outranking_share
• auction_insight_search_overlap_rate
• auction_insight_search_position_above_rate
• auction_insight_search_top_impression_percentage

I would recommend you to follow our Release Notes and Blog Post for future updates regarding the accessibility of these auction insight metrics. Unfortunately, the whitelisting program for this particular feature is currently closed, so we're unable to add new people to have access at this time. Although these metrics are not currently available through the API, you can still access them in the Google Ads UI by going to Insights > Reports > Auction Insights. Alternatively, you can generate an Auction Insights report in the UI and download it periodically as a workaround for programmatic access.

There is no point complaining to the API team. This is most likely a decision coming from the top and has nothing to do with the API development.  Exposing this data fully over the API will lead to large scale analysis and uncovering of sensitive and competitive data that Google prefers to keep out of reach.
