Hi!

I took over a Google Ads Account for a client.
However there is still some automations in the account being made every day by Google Ads API.

The email that is linked to the changes is change history is the owner of the account, but he knows nothing about it.

How do i stop the API from making daily changes?

Best Regards,
Magnus

Hi Magnus,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

After reviewing your concern, I understand that daily automations are occurring within your account through the Google Ads API. Kindly note that, Google Ads API cannot change the data automatically unless it is being triggered by some Google Ads API implementation codes that send calls/requests to API to make these changes. In order to further investigate, kindly provide us the uncropped UI screenshot of the Google Ads account (with visible customer ID) for the changes which were made by the Google Ads API to better assist you further.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email.

Magnus,

First, you should check whether it's actually a Google Ads script making the changes. In Google Ads, check out Tools - Bulk actions - Scripts. When the account is part of an MCC, do realize you can have scripts on account level and MCC level - check both.

Assuming it's not a script:

In Google Ads (on the web), go to the change history of one of those changes. You should see out who made those changes - that is the person that allowed some software to access your accounts.

Don't know that person? Kick him off your account.
You know the person or it's actually you? Ask that person to visit Google account security, and then click the link "Your connections to third-party apps and services". That shows a list of all software that was granted access to some information of that user. The violating software should be in there. That list has functionality to block access of individual apps.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the Google Ads API support team.

Kindly note that, Google Ads API cannot make any changes unless it is being triggered by some Google Ads API implementation codes that send calls/requests to API to make these changes. I would recommend you to check this help center article to See your account history. To check this issue further, provide us with your Google Ads account Id and uncropped UI change history screenshot by highlighting the changes that you are referring to.
