Hi,

I am trying to target ads to users who've expressed an interest in TWO locations over the past 14 days.
I know I can add a radius around each location in my AdWords targeting criteria, but it appears like it's just doing a boolean OR operator to combine them, not an AND (which is what I want).

Questions:
- Is there any way to tell the API that I want location A and location B as targeting criteria?
- What time range does Google define for "People who show interest in your targeted locations"?  If I visited that location a year ago, would that still count?

thanks,
josh

Hi Josh,

For the advanced geotargeting settings such as the Location of Presence (LOP) and Area of Interest (AOI) as well as the normal geo targeting settings, the AdWords API only mirrors the AdWords UI. So whatever the current logic behind the location targeting of the AdWords UI, the AdWords API only follows it. So in a campaign, if your targeted locations are New York City and California, then AdWords will target only those two locations and serve your ads in both locations. You can use the CampaignCriterionService on how to do this and you may refer to this guide as to how.

For your second question regarding the time range for the people who showed interest in the targeted locations, this concern is more on the AdWords product level, and not AdWords API specific. This said, I recommend you to post this concern in the AdWords Community Forum for further assistance.

Thanks,
Vincent
