Hi Pem,

Currently video campaigns (and other entities associated to them) are only available in the reports as mentioned here. That said, creating and managing them such as applying bids is currently not supported. You may follow our blog for announcements or updates regarding this topic.

Oh! I sort of lost this link ( I think because I deleted the topic and re-created it). Thanks for this information.

So is this the reason why via the API, there is no cpvbid (like cpabid,cpcbid and cpmbid). And if you are saying is true, then for videos ad group, even if I set cpcbid, cpabid or cpmbid, I will simply get an error?

Hi Pem,

Yes, cost-per-view (CPV) bidding is only applicable when setting up your ad groups for TrueView Campaigns. Since this type of campaign is currently not supported, then CPV bids could also not be applied. In addition, video ads are also not available via the AdWords API's services.

You may only create and manage them via the Google Ads UI. However, you should be able to retrieve their statistics via the Video Performance Report. I hope this helps.

Can you confirm if you still use the AdWords API? If yes, you will need to upgrade to the Google Ads API (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/start) as AdWords API is no longer available.

I'm afraid that the management of Video campaigns are not yet supported via Google Ads API as you may see here (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/campaigns/overview#differences_from_the_google_ads_ui). Our team already filed a feature request for this feature to be available in the API. Please note that this is a subject for review and what we can do for now is to advise you to keep an eye on our blog (https://ads-developers.googleblog.com/search/label/google_ads_api) and release notes (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/release-notes) for the latest updates in the API.

In the meantime, as a workaround, you may try using Google Ads UI or Google Ads Scripts (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/scripts/docs/features/video-campaigns).
