Hello,

From this post, I understand that Google has deprecated Dynamic Search Ads (DSA). Advertisers cannot create or update DSAs any more and all new DSAs are Extended DSAs. Meanwhile, Google is still serving existing DSAs.

Is this still true? If yes, how can we query existing DSA information using GoogleAds API? I only see EXPANDED_DYNAMIC_SEARCH_AD in the type enum of ad_group_ad.ad.type. What should I specific in the query as the type if I want to get DSA information?

Thanks,
Gavin

Hi Gavin,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to get performance data on your DSAs using Google Ads API.

You could use AdWords API to get this data where AdType = DYNAMIC_SEARCH_AD.

Is this a feature that will be added to GoogleAds API before its release? I think this is a feature gap of GoogleAds API.

Thanks,
Gavin

Hi Gavin,

You raise a very valid point about the legacy DSAs still serving. We're aware of this one and are working on a solution. I will update this post when I have more information.

Thanks,
