get ad formats from api call

Hi we are generating performance reports from the ads api. We are trying to get ad_format as a metric/column. 

What resources/metric do we request in order to see an individual ads format, i.e. 'discovery ad', 'bumper ad', 'outstream', etc. like here:  https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/2375464?hl=en#video-discovery

I couldn't find an answer in the docs

Hi Frank,

When running a report from the ad_group_ad level, you can use the field ad.type to see what kind of ad you are using.

Thank you Anthony. Those ad_types are limited.

What endpoint can we hit to retrieve the ad format like 'bumper_ad', 'youtube_discovery', etc. as seen here: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/2375464?hl=en#skippable-instream  ?

Hi Frank,

The ad types returned from the field I mentioned are the only ad types available through Google Ads API. The ones missing are ad types that are currently not supported through the API.
