Hi,

I'm using the Google Ads API V7.

I have a portfolio bidding strategy defined in my manager account and I've associated that bidding strategy with a campaign in one of the accounts under that manager account.

When I retrieve that campaign using the campaign service the BiddingStrategy field contains a path that includes the incorrect customer identifier.
  • Expected: "customers/<manager account id>/biddingStrategies/<bidding strategy id>"
  • Actual: "customers/<campaign account id>/biddingStrategies/<bidding strategy id>"
If I attempt to pass the returned value to the bidding strategy service it fails indicating that the requested entity was not found.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there some other way to identify the portfolio bidding strategy when it's inherited from a parent manager account?

Thanks,

David

Reposting the last inquiry (https://groups.google.com/g/adwords-api/c/sFtekGG3byw/m/uB81c0UTBwAJ) from the forum as it wasn't routed to our support queue.

Hi David,

This behavior is expected because currently, managing/retrieving bidding strategies at the MCC/manager account is currently not supported in the API.

That said, our team has already previously raised a feature request related to this. For now, you may keep an eye on our blog for updates or announcements. I hope this helps.

Best regards,
