Hello there,
I am using a PMAX campaign and wish to use a url tracker.

Currently, I am setting the final url to the tracker's url at the asset group level. I know that Google supports tracking templates at the campaign level but I require tracking at the asset group level. However, the final url is being flagged as a policy violation. May I know if using a tracker url as the final url is supported, or if there could be some other issue (eg mismatch between landing page and some other url)?

I understand you are setting the final url to the tracker's url at the asset group level. Could you please confirm that you are using Google Ads UI (Google Ads account) to set the final url. Hello,

I am using Google Ads API, not the UI, to set the final URL. I wish to know if setting the tracker url as the final url will cause any Google policy violations.

Hi,

I can see the policy violation error that you are seeing in the UI is regarding destination mismatch. As the error message suggests, the domains of Display URL, Final URL, Mobile URL and the Landing URL must be the same. The same thing is confirmed in this Help Center article as “Final URL is the page on your website that people reach when they click your ad. It doesn’t have to be the same as your display URL, but the domains (for example, the “example.com” in “www.example.com”) must match.“. Therefore, I would recommend you to ensure that the domains of the specified URLs are the same. You may refer to the provided Help Center article for more information on tracking templates and final URLs.

With regard to your concern “Wanted to clarify if setting a tracker URL as the final URL violates any Google policy.”, please note that as per this document, it is nowhere mentioned that final URLs cannot be used as a tracking URL. Based on this, I can say that you are not getting policy errors because of this.
