Adwords API reporting on Daily Budgets over a historic time frame

I'm building a tool to help visualize daily budgets + spends for a joined account of 8 primary accounts with approximately 75-120 campaigns at the account level.

 

I've been looking through the fields available in both the "ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT" and the "BUDGET_PERFORMANCE_REPORT" and will continue looking through the documentation, however I was wondering if anyone else has experience looking for something like this. One approach I can see would be looking up each campaign + budget for each day and then summing up all campaigns for each account's daily total... but it seems like there would have to already exist a better solution? 

 

Would appreciate any experiences/input from fellow analysts. Thanks!

Hi Scott, 

If you're looking for the total Cost associated with your accounts for a certain period, I would recommend that you use Account Performance Report as it provides the statistics aggregated at the account level. This will save you the effort of calculating the sum of the Campaigns' cost from the Campaign Performance Report. You can retrieve the budget performance stats for your campaigns using Budget Performance Report. You can also use the Cost field in the Budget Performance Report to get the cost accrued against your Budgets.
