We realized the impression overlap from different click types.
Normally only impressions contributed from Headline click type will be
counted. However we found from adwords UI that impressions from other
click types also counted. such as "Phone call". From documents we can
see there are following click types

OFFER_PRINTS / Print offer
GET_DIRECTIONS / Driving direction
PRODUCT_LISTING_AD_CLICKS / Offer
SITELINKS / Sitelink
PRODUCT_EXTENSION_CLICKS / Product plusbox offer
OTHER / Other
CALLS / Phone calls
URL_CLICKS / Headline

Could someone tell impressions from which click type we should count
and which one is "overlap" and should be discarded.

Hi,

You are correct that impression counts do overlap when you segment by click type, and we document this behavior in the Notes column on the report types page:

If both the URL and phone number shows for a given impression then it is counted towards both URL_CLICKS and CALLS, as both were possible.  If you want to know the total number of impressions received discounting duplicates then you will need to remove the ClickType segmentation.

Hi Eric
Thanks for replying. My clients always compare our api data with what
they could see from adwords UI. This is why there are lots of query
raised. We are trying to present data we downloaded from report
service the same way as Google does. However we found we counted too
much impression due to included impression from sitelink last time.
This time we found we counted less impression because we excluded
impression from phone calls....

From your reply could I refer as that, if we remove click type
segmentation from report api query the data downloaded from report
service will automatically discounting the duplicated impressions?

Thanks very much

Hi Chad,

That's correct.  If you don't segment by ClickType then there will no longer be any overlap in the impression numbers.
