Create Google Ads API Display campaign via Google Ads API

Hi, 

Is it possible to create a campaign with Display type via Google Ads API. I tried but i got error and this message : This operation is not permitted on this campaign type

I saw that there is campaign with Search type campaign and can be set target content network to true and I can create Ads with image under that campaign, looks like Ad in Display type. So what are the diffrence between them?

I'm from the Google Ads API team.

In order for us to further investigate, can you please provide the complete request and response logs with request ID where you've encountered an error? Also, it would be great if you can provide the ID of the campaign that you created so we can take a closer look at its difference with a Display campaign. You may send it to us via Reply privately to author option.

Thank you for fast response,

First one thing i want to say is I want to test API carefully with before integrate it to my system, so i use test account. Sadly, im using NodeJs and google-ads-api library, with currently not support by Google. But i think it is good and i already create a Search type campaign with id 19847296726, which i can create Responsive display ads under it, and its good for me. But i think my main purpose is Display type campaign, which i cant create which the API, come with the error i mention before. I tried create display campaign in the UI, its successfully and have id 19868924083, but i dont know exactly the difference from them.

Now i try create a new one via the API , here is my information that i can give. I put them in attachments. I think you can ignore most params in request body, because i use its for testing and have successfully result with Search type, but when change to Display type, its come with error.

Thank you for getting back to us.

I tried to replicate the exact code you used and I found out that the error is caused by the network settings. I found out that in the Display campaign, the targetContentNetwork should be set to true. You may try to set the targetContentNetwork to True and the other settings to false instead.
